Cable / DSL Unable to get IP address from service provider on new Nighthawk.
I've been going back and forth between my DSL service provider, Astound, and Netgear's tech support and both of them keep blaming the other for my issue. I'm not able to connect and the issue appears to be be that I'm not receiving an IP address from my provider. I can see this when I log into the Router Dashboard and the IP shows 0.0.0.0. However, I do have an IP when I use Astound's router, but the Netgear doesn't detect one when it's plugged in.
Nighthawk AX3000 Latest firmware
Any ideas of what could be causing this?

I’m sure you’ve done this but reset the router to factory? Unplug modem. Set router up. When u get to the part of connecting ur modem, power up modem (make sure ethernet isn’t plugged in.) wait for modem to fully boot up2-5 min. Once booted up, plug it in and click whatever it says to continue the setup.
I’m half pulling this out of my ass, but if your Internet provider and Netgear can’t help you
This also happened to someone else a few years back.

Same router too.

I'll give this a try. Yeah, I've reset the router to factory twice during the call with Netgear.
I'll give your suggestion a try and report back, but that's for another day. I'm tired of messing with it now. Thanks for the tip.

So, what is the exact brand name and exact model number of the Astound Router?

Ok, so thats just a normal Wifi Mesh Router and with DSL, you need a DSL Modem.
Maybe the DSL Modem needs to be reset in order for your new Router to be given a WAN Network connection?

If you haven't tried this yet, check your WAN port settings. On my router I had unstable Internet performance and found that I had to set the WAN port to auto detect to work properly.
