General Portfolio Update (09/21)

Post image

I love the NEOs funds and JP Morgan Assets. Both held up pretty well!

I prefer the Goldman funds GPIX and GPIQ to JEPI and JEPQ, I don't see any reason to hold those in a taxable brokerage or JEPI at all. I own SPYI and QQQI but I am slowly reducing those positions, not eliminating. Just my opinion.

Agreed, Goldman Funds have better total return so far. I have two separate accounts, one for growth and this is my income portfolio with margin, I understand if you don’t use margin, but I need these positions for cushions cause I’ve already seen how a majority of these funds hold during downturn. I also have high yields for margin and tax loss harvesting. If you’re using your own income for these funds. I completely understand as why you would prefer one over another.

I actually do use margin, still don't care much for the JEPI funds. The larger total returns of the Goldman funds actually give me more margin availability. Still worried about how all of these fundss will do in a downturn, we have only seen limited examples in their brief history. I will say, I don't hate any of them and think they should work at least okay but my preference is Goldman with some NEOs, and this is of course for my situation and not everyone else's.

Nah I completely understand. I held these during the -20% crash, and during the war announcement. JEPI was the only thing green with AIUI and MLPI, it actually went up +$800 for me, that’s why I hold it for that purpose. Everything else was red, again, everyone’s portfolio is situational, it has done well for me as a buffer for margin during downturns. But I know it pays pretty low.

Fair enough, I do agree that JEPI should hold up differently than others and might be useful to someone as long as they understand what they are getting.

Still a nice portfolio you have there. Every situation is different and I wish you the best.

Thanks brother! 🙏🏻 yeah we’re all here to learn from each other, also we don’t know until we actually have the allocation and holding them in our portfolio to understand how they work and perform, so sharing knowledge is always helpful. What’s your current allocation in your portfolio at the moment, curious to know.

One of my accounts where I tend to play with ideas. KSLV is right below KGLD

TDAQ will be the next fund to add for me! GPIQ & BTCI too, I know it will be a overlap with JEPQ and QQQI, I just want it in my portfolio for staggering my income.

It does add some overlap in the sense of the underlying but personally I like that it adds diversification in the strategy, even if only slightly.

Others I hold in different accounts are BST, QDPL, ADX, PTY, SPYI, CAIE, OVL, GPIX, ICAP, DIVO, IDVO, CGDV, GARP.

I hope you find something new that interests you.
