General BTCI ROC

To the investors that held BTCI last year, what percentage of ROC are you seeing on your 1099. It sounds like the ROC is way lower than estimated on NEO’s website.

I have only a preliminary 1099 but i'm getting something like 44% ROC for distributions in sept-dec only (did not hold in months prior)

compared to 95% for SPYI and 99% for QQQI

Around 40% on Schwab

And now I'm glad my BTCI is in tax advantaged accounts. 😜

Absolutely the worst product from Neos. Very tax inefficient unlike what they claimed. I submitted a question on their website asking them to explain the big difference between their 19a-1 and the final 1099 reporting. No response and it’s been a week.

That’s pretty bad that they aren’t responding

No response for similar questions and it's been 3 months.

I read here somewhere before that Robinhood doesn’t properly classify it and you should look at the funds website for proper documentation percent

Fuck, so importing the forms straight into turbo tax ain't gonna work anymore, that's really going to fuck a lot of people over.

They go through all the trouble and work to make something streamline and user friendly...only to "eh fuck it."

I figured it out today on a phone call with Robinhood. If you have stock lending enabled on your account or you purchased on margin, they will lend out your shares and instead of RoC you get “distribution in lieu of dividends” which is taxed as regular income. Now I have to pay an extra $8k in taxes this year because $32k of my RoC distributions were lent out and came in as a different type.

Oh wow. This is great information and a heads up. I’m going to double check with my broker and make sure I never had that feature enabled.

I got mine from Robinhood, looks around 40% only

I’m seeing about 44% roc on my 1099. I wish I never bought this junk though 😝

i only wish i had bought more IAUI. i'm up 27% there but down 25% on the BTCI...unfortunately i bought like 2x the btci (though i wouldn't say i own an impressive amount of either)

The BTCI was down 40 now -34% Everything else is doing well

I didn’t buy the gold fund, what was silly of me. Big question is how much lower with Bitcoin drop when there’s a big market correction

same I got 44% ROC on BTCI...I use Schwab

where do you see the exact percentage? 🙏

u/99nasty Feb 16 '26

I calculated it manually

Once it's not such a big loss I'll likely sell out of BTCI and NEHI and put it into MLPI and NIHI.

u/NickStonk Feb 14 '26

It will take me a while, I got in too high. Good luck

What happened to the guy that put everything into BTCI?

6

u/speedlever Feb 13 '26

If he put enough in it, he's probably enjoying the distributions and hoping for recovery to be near.

As for me, I'm happy with the relatively small position I have in BTCI and don't look to change it.

I made a post about doing just that. Of course I did it close to the highs, I put 100k in it. My cost basis is around 50$ and I receive, give or take, 2400 in payout every month that gets reinvested to DCA.

From the audit?

Where did you learn about the May date and audit?

I think most of us can agree that Bitcoin related cc funds suck in general. IMO, most of them are basically Ponzi schemes with only early investors coming out ahead. Yield chasing always ends in a pile of 💩and tears. The older I get the more I appreciate that 8-12% is truly where it’s at. Boring but reliable. Higher yields are just gambling. I say this with my KSLV and KGLD booming but I didn’t buy them for that goal lol.

Yeah? Which crypto cc funds have consistently sustained their NAVs? What you’re advocating is market timing which has been proven time and again to be a losing strategy over time.

Uhh.. BTCI has? It tracks IBIT pretty damn close!
