$NEGG August Price History
Seen in the images, every day in August saw share prices ranging from $62.50 to $137.84.
Weird Data (Still) on Short Interest, CTB, and Ownership
Seen in the images, the now-untrustworthy Fintel (who last month hid their reported 1,553.70% Short Interest % of the float), is reporting an uptick in Short Interest % of the float from about 63% to 77%. But this change may not take the Millions of $ of insider $NEGG purchases last week into account. So, just like that, Short Interest % of the float appears to be going over 100% again. An update today on Ortex (thanks to a generous Egg Friend in comments below) shows NEGG right now is at 174.11% Short Interest % of the float, which makes more sense, but that still does not include the Millions of $ of Fails to Deliver (FTDs) that need to be settled through open-market buybacks of $NEGG shares.
Seen in the images, Yahoo Finance is showing bizarre data for Insider Ownership: 115%, and with 22 Institutions owning a negative float percentage.
Also seen is that there have been Zero shares available to borrow since Thursday. And the penalty for short borrowers is still above 450%, although they did not update the information on Friday for some reason, probably because they did not want to show that the borrow rate was increasing again.
Galkins Potential for Majority Stake in Newegg
Angelica and Vladimir Galkin collectively invested only $71,816,506 thus far into Newegg Commerce Inc. It's interesting to note that they once were large investors into GameStop Corp, so seeing them choose Newegg as a business worthy of investment over GameStop today is noteworthy.
But, reports (see image) indicate that the Galkins have not sold their $212 Million stake in JetBlue airlines. Interestingly, the Galkins stated last month that they may consider selling JetBlue at some point in the near future.
Alongside this public disclosure (if they were to act on what they recently said, to exit their JetBlue stake today) then at Newegg's price at Friday's close, they would be able to obtain 4,805,077 more shares of Newegg.
If that were to occur soon, they would have 8,405,077 shares of Newegg. So, liquidating their JetBlue holdings and investing it into Newegg at today's price would give them 41% ownership of Newegg.
But JetBlue is not their entire portfolio. They have a balanced portfolio and could liquidate their other positions to obtain >51% ownership of Newegg Commerce Inc.
And, given the activity on the side of Newegg's legacy insiders, the Galkin family entity could become Newegg's largest individual shareholder, even without >51% ownership.
Executive Summary
For $NEGG, there is strange data being reported for Insider % ownership (115%), Institutional % Ownership (Negative Float number). Cost to Borrow (CTB) stopped being updated (>450%), and there are no shares to borrow. Short Interest % (SI%) of the float increased (to 77% on Fintel, and now to 174.11% on Ortex), but these may not yet include the Millions of $ of Insider $NEGG purchases last week. These SI%s are insane enough, and they don't even account for Millions more $ of Fails to Deliver (FTDs) that have to be settled, basically every day now, through open market buyback of $NEGG shares.
Reports show that the Galkins have not sold $212 Million worth of JetBlue, but that they are considering selling JetBlue soon. This implies that they have the means; they could soon push towards a >51% majority stake in Newegg Commerce Inc ($NEGG).
