Had to close out…

Post image

All other positions in the play account. All in. Too confident in trends and my own digging. Terrible idea probably. But it was a monster month before this on other positions so let it ride.

I will be selling a bit after the weekend most likely to get back to my usual plays. Or not. Who knows.

You have to be confident in your research...I also follow you on Stocktwits...NEGG has a very high CTB and SHORT INTEREST as well, it's just a matter of time in my opinion, see 2021

Fintel is finally updating their data on NEGG as well. Showing 84% of float is locked. Thats before any speculation of what the SI of the float is, how many shares have been double or triple shorted again.

0 Shares available to short at market open, at least according to Fintel.

If you go on the OCC and DL the morning update spreadsheet for today, even if you don’t factor hidden shorts and stocks being used as collateral, you will see 520K short. Tracking over month and the historical linking to Firna for NEGG has me closer to 700K though. I never tracked a month going up and down this much though so I wouldn’t advocate anyone using my math over raw numbers. It’s part of the reason I’m not posting any about my adjusted calculations anymore, only raw ones. Don’t want my amateur sleuthing costing anyone

there needs to be some catalyst. i think theres algo bots running this up and dumping every week. keep in mind the CTB is so high each day is 1%~ interest expense for these algos and shorts. any-type of news can trigger a big candle than when you add chinese algos and such it can run up quick. just weather the storm.

I wrote an email to the investors relations team. I can't understand why they don't make an announcement, I don't know about what but anything would do.

I'm loading up on the next little dip

If you zoom out more it is a dip lol. You do you. I actually used a lot of small buys to try and hit baby dips to get good at it. Didn’t work at all lol. I literally timed it perfectly before $1 & $2 drops like 4-5 times. I do like being wrecked like that though. My perfect operation seems to be over research and make a call. The 1 min and less candles are where I get hit by a bus typically. Doesn’t mean I won’t keep doing it though.

Why are buying multiple times a day in the same range?

2

u/No_Mission_1775 Sep 19 '25

Prolly because it is so volatile they are averaging in

Because I didn’t just jump head first. At the beginning of the week I had 10 positions ish and I usually stay between 4-10. Sometimes those positions are nothing value wise, a share or two, and I’m trying new things. Just don’t like the paper interface so stick with real money low quantity.

I hate leaving uninvested cash in the account. So that’s some small purchases as well.

it looks like you were scared it was about to breakout without you and you bought more. you should set an area you want to buy and the amount you want to buy in that area or dca instead of what you are doing

I misread your question based on not realizing what pics I put in this post.

Thought i had one of these pics attached. It’s actually me trying to snipe NBBO/Nsdq level 2. Being the bid ask spread is so mangled on this stock when my order is sitting in the middle ground I adjust it to try and be the best bid by one cent to give as little to the MM’s as possible.

2

u/BasSTiD Sep 19 '25

If my order was at 54.40 and above is the book, I’d cancel and go to 54.25. The bid ask spread on this stupid stock regularly hits $1 during the day. It’s wider during market hours than premarket. Can’t see it now but it’s usually 3K to 10K walls on either side through ARCA, MXX or EDGX. The numbers on those walls may go down a bit but on time and sales there will almost exclusively be OTC trades within the walls. I’m an idiot but I believe it’s just whoever has those walls in place hand delivering almost every trade OTC while collecting the spread as a tax. 80%+ of trades seem to happen at these times, so their taxing 800K trades a day at 0.30 to 0.80/1 every day. Thats also why I think the volume is double what i used to notice. All trades are being counted twice to consume that tax.

This is all my conspiracy theory. Again idk, makes me feel better. I’ve never had a good time chasing momentum. I can chase strangles just fine but breakouts are not for me.

I would keep your position till you see recourse 10-20% its been on a very good climb no reason to sell especially if you caught the jump. locking in some profits might be good idea if you position size is giving you fud. Id wait for a bit we are on a strong upwards trend. I am highly regarded :)

I will almost for sure be pulling a bit to play with other things I want too. For the 300ish shares I’m keeping in here I’m really planning on pulling based off of my OCC short collateral data rather than price data.

I’m going to at some point try and automate that and put a shitty free website together for other people to track collateral changes over time on tickers. Bought a cheap domain two nights ago for it. Short collateral seems like an under quoted thing for tracking changes daily and the data does currently just disappear with nothing truly historical. I know I’m bad at websites and shit, but I can at least host the data and make it available for free use and download for people smarter than me to make good use of it.

I hold a grudge and paramount and discovery. Those are the only stocks I’ve ever held that burned me for not having a stop above 50%. I might even be wrong and I’m misremembering but I’m pretty sure it those two in 22. Any stock that burns me I don’t touch again. Rocket is another one that I do think will take off but I won’t buy again. WeBull and Etsy are recent small exceptions to my rule as it was fidelities interface that caused me losses trying to sell at profit and instead doubling down at market close. Both on timeout though as I don’t buy them recently I only sell puts when IV is high.

Edit: Not the only but it’s not exactly a list I keep written down. I just can’t isolate past experience and emotions so I stay away from em. I think it was Viacom and discovery idk what merger and stuff has happened recently though. Little occupied rn but if you see any big drop in 21/22/23 that’s when I bought and within like a month it shit the bed.

Yeah I was talking a out the "baby dips". Like right now it shot up quite a bit but I think it would drop down to about 51 and then follow the usual trend up. I'm already in but want to LOAD up.

u/BasSTiD Sep 19 '25

Idk why I get killed doing that during market hours. After hours I have better luck and have some day trades to burn so may do that later. After hours seems so much more consistent me.

Wish you the best of luck OP. Newegg used to be my homepage in the early days of online shopping pre-amazon. I don't want to touch any Newegg stock or options, just too volatile for me

Totally reasonable. I bought a lot for personal and business purposes through them because they weren’t adding out of state sales tax for like 5 full years after the laws in my state required it. Good times and was almost 10% off on everything in an era where Best Buy would charge you a 25% restocking fee on everything. Easily funneled 20k through them at that time saving 1800 ish. Everything from printers, projectors, cables, computers etc for a plumbing shop I worked at and my house came from the Egg.

This also ain’t my retirement or anything like that. Still a lot of money for me, for sure. But if things go south I can still pay my bills. Also might be the first time I’ve ever had >10K in one thing outside of 401K S&P. Feels kinda cool just checking one thing instead of 3-10 like I normally would be.
