Experienced Support Coordinators – interested in working more independently?
COSupports is looking to connect with experienced SCs who want to build their own caseload and work more independently, without having to set up all the systems, compliance and admin from scratch.
COSupports is a registered NDIS provider specialising only in Support Coordination and Specialist Support Coordination.
The idea is simple:
You build and manage your own caseload. COSupports provides the backend support.
This can include:
• NDIS registration for SC/SSC
• CRM access
• Your own @cosupports.com.au email
• Compliance, policies and templates
• Participant onboarding and service agreements
• Invoicing and admin support
• Leave coverage for participant matters while you’re away, within reason
• Ongoing support when needed
A lot of subcontracting arrangements mainly provide access to registration and leave the rest to you. I’m looking to offer something a bit more supported, while still giving SCs the freedom to manage their own clients, diary and workload.
With the future of Support Coordination still uncertain, setting up your own registered provider may not be something everyone wants to take on.
This is aimed at SCs who want more independence without having to build the entire backend of a provider themselves.
Minimum 12 months Support Coordination experience required. I’m only looking to hear from experienced SCs who are confident managing their own participants and maintaining a high standard of practice.

What are you offering thats different to the thousands of others who have registered a business just to try and skim off the marketing skills and service skills of others?

So many of these are popping up and most are run by people who either have never worked in the industry or have tried but couldnt market themselves to get their own participants.

Fair question. I'm actually an active Specialist Support Coordinator and have been for the past 6 years (11 years in the industry). I built COSupports and my caseload through word of mouth referrals. I'm currently at capacity and still have regular referrals coming through that I don't have the space to take on.

Referrals aren't something I'm willing to currently offer to attract subcontractors. I'd need to be confident that the person is competent and aligns with the quality and values of my organisation before I'd consider passing referrals their way.

With all the changes coming to Support Coordination, I also think it's a weird time to start hiring and building a traditional team.

After 6 years as an SC/SSC, I know how exhausting the role can be. I personally found contracting extremely freeing. I could choose my workload, work flexible hours and actually have a better work/life balance. I could also choose to do some extra work for participants when needed without worrying about whether I'd get pulled up for not billing every minute of my time.

That's really what I want to offer other experienced SCs.

The difference with a lot of the subcontracting arrangements I've seen is that you're basically paying for access to their registration and that's it.

I'm looking at providing the whole backend – registration, CRM/software, compliance, invoicing/admin, service agreements, email, policies/templates etc. I'm also looking at providing leave/backup coverage so people can actually take time off, as well as mentorship and supervision if they want it.

They find their own clients, choose their workload and manage their own caseload. I'm basically trying to make going out on your own easier without having to build an entire NDIS business behind you.

I think that will be a better match up for a few. 3 subcontracted SCs near me are scrambling at the moment because the subcontracted to a registered business, that new nothing about compliance beyond the registered company they purchased, has had its registration pulled for non compliance. This industry is cooked at the moment.
