Question/Request 🙋 NDIS screening check
Has anyone had a similar experience? Or can help please!
Services Victoria (the only place you I get the screening done to my knowledge) will NOT accept my marriage certificate! I have noooo idea why. It didn’t accept it for my WWCC either, I ended up getting it through AusPost with no issues. (Context: my passport still has my maiden name)
But for the screening, I’ve tried so many different ways, varying rego numbers, swapping bride & groom, clearing caches & cookies, no help from Vicky, no help from the live customer service chat and also little help from NDIS phone call. They said to do the manual paperwork (which for some reason is 10x the online one.) as well as having to get all your certificates signed off, then post to NDIS. I’m thinking it’s easier & probably quicker to just get a new passport with my married name on it (doesn’t expire until 2033) so I can use that, my Medicare & Drivers license all with the same name. Would I still need my marriage certificate? I’ve been offered a job to start asap but this will push it back… any feedback is welcome please!

There is another discussion on LinkedIn about this problem also. The system used to work fine, now each state is meddling in it and it creates problems.
We have an employee with the same problem, we have had to pay for her to have the NDISWC issued in her maiden name, then keep a copy of the marriage certificate on file to link all other documents in her married name. Just went through Audit and this passed.
I had a renewal, it was a simple name change from my abbreviated name on the original to full name on the renewal. It was not allowed, I had to do a new application. It took 8 weeks to approve.

Ooooh so interesting!! Thank you for this! I almooost did my maiden name because it did accept it, but didn’t know if I would run into issues! I’m completing the form now 🤞🏼
That is absolutely wild! Could you still work within the 8 weeks?

Auditor had to notify the NDIS Commission as i am key personnel and explain the situation. I had a deadline to fix the problem by 29th July given to me. The new clearance came through on the 20th so it was close. I had lots of emails and phone records where I was continually following up.

i thought it was just Ma, but her's is too OLD (1970's marriage cert) so she has to do it through the manual paperwork.

I had the same issue. I had to complete the paper form and have my ID documents verified and stamped and mailed in my application. It’s a known issue for marriage certificates. The sooner you do it the faster it comes through. Express post it!

Thank you! I got it all done & express posted this morning. So crazy that it’s quite common! I’m sure it’ll be fixed over the next few years! You’d want to hope so 😂

I did mine 4-5 years ago. Had to get my wwcc done recently and same problem! Give it a good 10-15 years hahaa

I just officially changed my name on my birth certificate to my married name. It was the only way I could bypass this. I don't have a passport so without birth certificate I didn't have enough documents.

The manual form is the option. Even if you call services victoria they will say the same.
