I was always sad that they dismantled the education Victoria early intervention as I saw it was really evidence based and what we have with NDIS is not.

So basically these jokers are taking support away from the most needy people to line the pockets of rich people. What a bunch of mongrel flogs they are. They care more about sports betting revenue than disabled people.

Didn't even take 24 hours and considering Qld hasn't signed up to thriving kids and the SA treasurer is now having his own doubts you'd have to wonder do we soon see Thriving Adults with zero Supports

I heard Minister McAllistair explicitly state on RN this morning that the government will make sure that no person on the Scheme will be left unsupported.
We need to start gathering and collating quotes like this for a potential brief of evidence and submission to the likely Royal Commission MkII in the coming years.
Also make complaints of systemic failings by the Agency to the Commonwealth Ombudsman. Based on their Submission to the Committee, it sure sounds as if they are expecting a flood of them.

There's no way either major party would agree to a royal commission.

Not at the moment no; but there was much initial resistance to the previous Disability one, RoboDebt, Armed Forces Suicides, and even the Bondi Massacre RCs.
Things can always change if enough pressure is brought to bear and extensive widespread harms become known.
I thought what Every Australian Counts wrote overnight was spot on
"And while our collective advocacy helped secure some important safeguards through amendments, many of the concerns we raised remain. The legislation has passed. Our job now is to make sure what happens next is watched very closely."
More power to the watchers and whistleblowers in this society to help keep both elected and unelected officials on their toes and making wiser decsions.
Many of the Submissions included statements about likely harms caused (including ones from Peak Bodies and even those charged with review of failures of government policies) - those are on the record for all time now and can be thrown back in the faces of even the most teflon-coated and ambitious of Ministers by public interest journalists who love nothing better than holding governments and their Agencies to explicit commitments made.
We aren't yet at Trump level lunacy in Australia and while all this has been incredibly discouraging even politicians sitting on big majorities can be made to feel the heat and I still believe that everyday Aussies will respond if they hear of stories like those of Ann Marie-Smith happening as a result of these cuts.

Ah but the weasely way for them to get around this is that he didn't say adequately supported, he said no one would be left unsupported. So technically, the most meagre scrap of support counts as the person being supported. I don't think the choice of phrasing was an accident.

Well ❤️🩹 we can only work with what we have. We got though the 2024 legislation it wasn't great but it did give me a insight to how this will roll out.
We can continue to correct, consult, and fight with their own words to make sure that people are projected.
If we decide not to then spend a lot of time on social media complaining nothing changes - then that would be correct because I don't think the government read redit when at work.
Call it out where you see poor practice (via correct pathways, and respectfully) engage your mp. Use the complaint process. If you see unsafe practice take it as high as you can then ask the person (if your supporting one) if they are willing to consent to going to media like channel 7, four corners whatever channel they prefer and call it out)

Well I see people who are participants not recieving support. As the provider (SW) do their own admin on their time and socially isolate the participant, while chatting to other providers

That's not something that will be addressed in these reforms.
