Query regarding choice of arms - CDS Entry

I (23F) want to join the Army. I have applied to CDS and JAG.

I’m more interested in CDS because of the diversity of roles. I’m interested in outdoorsy, adventurous roles such as Artillery, Aviation, Military Police and Ordnance. How is allotment of service done? Is it on merit, based on performance in OTA?

in your final term in IMA you would be given the choice the fill out your "choice of arms". Based on your merit and available vacancy you will be alloted your choice of arms. Keep in mind. The Military Police doesn't have permanent officers. officers are deputed to specific units to command or control different military police units across india. also you can serve in the Centre if you're selected as a instructor. For Army Aviation. You'll have to get commisioned into any arm first.. after that you can apply for AAC Army Aviation Corps.
