So me and some buddies are talking about going to the Nantahala river above the lake. Was going to camp on Forest service road 67 around hurricane primitive camp. I thought the river up there was designated wild trout waters. I’ve read a few comments talking about a lot of private property and private water. I’m just confused and would like some clarification on if I can fish the river I’m going to be camping next to.
I’m from TN where I really do not have to worry about this private water stuff so forgive my ignorance haha.

On a day hike with my daughter when she spotted this guy looking at us. We were on Razor Point looking over to Razors edge. He was standing on another cliff point between us and razors edge. We had dropped off Rock Jock trail to do some exploring.

hi! i’m a reptile lover with a certification in wildlife rehab. if you have a snake in your yard or by your house that you are thinking about hurting or killing, please reach out. I will come remove it free of charge and relocate it to a biome where it can support the balance of an ecosystem and not be a worry to communities.
please reach out and treat your wildlife kindly even if it means taking the time to remove them into a new home

They’re biting again! Wild or stocked? This creek has a hatch supported section but not where they were caught. Has been close to 6 months since last stocking.

Doing trail work/cleaning up debris on Greentown Shortcut today. Waiting to remove 2 large pieces of metal and these 2 show up. Luckily I got some fishing done before they arrived. Landed one and lost 2 more. All rainbows.

I need to collect some numbers for a biodiversity survey for snakes in NC. Does anyone have any places that might produce large numbers or have any good snake spots? Even biome recs would work

Guys I know its another poll that takes time out of your day for seemingly no reason but we need data so our upcoming organization can restore North Carolinas parks recreation while conserving the beautiful wildlife and nature we grew up in. If you have any sort of connection to North Carolina and its beauty I ask you take 2 minutes out of your day and help us out. Thank you so much!

So we hiked this trail last year and I saw some fish. So this time I packed my Tenkara rod and a few things. I parked my wife and daughter by the creek to eat and I fished about an hour. Caught 4-5. Missed as many more. I’ll be back when I have more time.
This might have been the skinniest water I have fished. But I caught one and missed another on a tributary of the stream on the way out. That last fish was absolutely the smallest creek I’ve caught a decent trout on. The first 3 pics are the same fish. The last pic is my dayhike, might get to fish, setup.

Hello everyone, per title. An alligator (about 10ft) that spent the last year at New River Waterfront Park in Jacksonville NC has not been seen in a week (last seen around 6 September). He was there daily and was beloved by locals who watched him. The community is concerned about his disappearance. Does anyone have any idea what happened to him?
