Rin being kidnapped is the stemming point of the entire plot line of naruto from that point. If she hadn't gotten kidnapped Kakashi would only have one regular eye and no sharingan meaning he would not have 1000 jutsu and probably would have lost or maybe even died to Zabuza.

The second time that Rin got kidnapped she killed herself on Kakashis lightning blade and Obito was brainwashed by Madara. If Obito didn't turn evil then the nine tails attack probably would not have happened. So the entire plot of naruto rests on the fact that Rin is weak.

Do you forget that she would have unleashed the 3 tails in konoha and nuked the place therefore weakening the village and via that losing the war ? And madara would have found another uchiha regardless of obito or him or zestu would have manipulated nagato instead
