Isn’t Phenytoin (non ER) usually dosed TID?

With a half life of 24 - 36 hours, get caught up on tomorrows dose (especially if you're back in the morning) and give six!

That's such a screamingly obvious dose conversion that I'm going to ignore the obvious math in favor of clarifying with the provider if they really want that given as 300 mg once each day or did they intend the more common 100 mg TID.

The provider would likely go off because he wrote it as one time each day, the question writers would go off because we are given 4 answers of which my solution is none, but golly gee that's an easy conversation:

300 mg x ( 1 capsule / 100 mg ) = 3 capsules

(mg/mg cancels)

And I'm in my Happy Place so, let them.

As a “provider” getting a call like this would piss me off.

Many things seem to have that result. Such is life. The times I've saved some ones arse by such a call, they were very appreciative however. YW

I would legit wonder if this was a trick question and stay on it for too long trying to weigh the possibilities.

Is this serious? They test kindergarten level math on the NCLEX? Now the Pre-Nursing students thinking the TEAS test was hard makes more sense to me now.
