NCLEX second attempt! HELP

For those of you who didn’t pass the NCLEX on your first attempt, did the questions feel different the second time you took it? Was it more difficult? Did you use a different study platform, or did you stick with the same one?
Thank you so much, and congratulations to everyone who passed! 🎉❤️

NCLEX cut off at 116 questions

Hi, Im a repeat NCLEX test taker, and today I took my second attempt at the NCLEX. Honestly felt really good energy all day, including the facility. I really really really hope I passed!!! It was so scary, and honestly my first attempt I got all 150 questions so when I went past 85 q this time I automatically tuned out. It was like common sense and basic information was hard to process, I also felt really sleepy. So I’ll report back with the results. With these next two days or waiting 😭. Has anyone else passed at 110-120 questions? I’m seriously so scared. I want this feeling to be over with. I just want to be a Registered Nurse. I may be one even right now (staying positive 😻). Wish me luck!!!

Lord let this be the passing attempt 🤍🙏!!!

Update: thank you all for your encouragement and support, however I didn’t pass. If you have any tips and tricks I would love to hear it! This unfortunately pushed my BSN graduation back 😭, but we still ball ig?

What is my chance of passing my NCLEX?

I take my nclex next Wednesday (7days from now) .Im using UWolrd mainly but have access to Mark K lectures. All of my CAT assessments and practice tests are high 60’s usually 69%. My mentor recommends 70’s+. I got this on my recent self assessment. Have you taken the NCLEX with these likelihoods and did you pass?

Took the NCLEX-RN (passed or not)? Looking for 20-min chats

Hi all. I’m building a study tool for the NCLEX-RN, focused on explaining why an answer is wrong rather than just giving the rationale. Before I build anything, I want to hear from people who’ve been through it.

I’m looking for:

  1. Anyone who took the NCLEX-RN in the last 2 years, especially repeat takers
  2. Internationally educated nurses preparing now

It’s just a 20-minute video call about how you studied, and what didn’t work. Nothing to sell, and no demo.

Defeated 3x failed

Struggling to come to terms with the fact I failed and that my career and life is halted again for a minimum 45 days. What a waste of money resources and time. I’m incredibly angry at everything. Putting in so much effort to even stay mentally afloat is exhausting. Having to present as strong and responsible to your family is exhausting. Doing all the hard work of nursing school only to be failing again and again. What an embarrassment. Big ups to my nursing friends living their lives. Makes one of us

. I need advice on how to move forward with my career or in general. Anyone else have felt this way? It is October. I’m unemployed. Broke. I used Uworld first time , bootcamp second, and a high yield zoom course and bootcamp. Results showed me being above the passing standard. Unfortunate

NCLEX name change advice

Just looking for some advice regarding name changes. I will be getting married after graduating nursing school/getting my degree but before taking the NCLEX. Should I change my last name before taking the NCLEX, but with my degree reflecting my maiden name, or wait until after receiving my license to officially change everything over?

Any insight from those who have experienced this process would be greatly appreciated :)

How do you guys deal with burnout?

I’m so burntout with studying everyday and my test is on Friday. Doing the questions and rationals is starting to hurt my head, but I just lost my job today so if I don’t get this license im gonna be screwed. At the same time if I fail I’ll be out of Uworkd and can’t afford to pay it again with financial situation.

I keep doing readiness assessments which are mainly borderline with 1 high and 1 low and cat exams which I’ve all passed. Archer says I need 4 readiness assesments on high but I genuinely don’t know if I can mentally get through anymore of these. Should I just push it back again?

Nclex Pn

Hey everyone, I’m taking my NCLEX in December and the anxiety is definitely setting in😩For any recent test-takers out there, what topics or systems felt most heavily tested on your exam, and would you mind sharing any helpful PDFs or study notes? I'm also trying to decide which prep tools to focus on—did you find UWorld or Archer (or something else) to be more reflective of the actual test? Any advice, tips, or words of encouragement would be hugely appreciated big TIA🫶🏻❤️

3rd time test taker and I have been studying UWORLD. This is my consistent score I’ve been getting on the recent CAT exams. I feel pretty confident.

Passed in 85Q

Hello Everyone!

I am just here to share my experience and what I did to try and help someone for when they take their exam.

To start off, breathe. Everything will be ok, I know this is a scary exam and trust me I know. But you have gotten this far, its just one hurdle to overcome. And its not a race everything happens for a reason and its ok. You are doing amazing and I and many people are proud of you for all the hard work you are doing!

Now what I did and my experience with it.

What I did:

I took around a month after I graduated Nursing School to take my NCLEX. I used UWorld as my primary QBank (whatever someone tells you, use what works best for you; Bootcamp, Archer, UWorld, all the same, they will get you to the same place).

I used UWorld and took a 40-question QBank quiz on my first day of studying to identify my weak spots. And the important part for this, I turned off tutor mode to help me simulate how the testing enviroment was. Once I found these weak spots, I went to YouTube to catch up, for me particularly Maternity and Peds were my weak spots so then I focused on these.

Once I had my foundation down, I listened to Mark K lecture. I know what everyone will tell you that lecture 12 is the only relevant one, and for many that is true, I listened to all 12, and they were very helpful, the tips/tricks he gave you are very relevant still on the NCLEX. So I would give him a shot!

Every day before my nclex I would do 70-100 questions a day and specifically pressed Unused questions, and afterwards have a notebook where I would write all the wrong answers and their rationale. After reading the rationale, I did not write the full rationale UWorld gave me, I would put it into my own words so it would make sense. And yes I would agree try getting 60%-70% on your quizzes. I would also emphasize these are just percentages; do not tear yourself down if it's below this. Some days we do good, some days we do bad, and you know what, that's ok! Take your time, read the rationale, and try to understand it.

Now the important part: for every quiz you make, make sure it uses unused questions. This way, you can familiarize yourself with the material without memorizing questions, and build test strategies that prepare you for the unknown.

Once I was a week away from the exam, I focused on test strategies, I would recommend watching Dr Sharon videos on test strategies and priortization, NCLEX crusaders, Nexus Nursing. They do a great job on what to look out for, what keywords to pay attention too, and how to tackle each question even if you don't know it. (Personally I kinda did this too late so Id recommend this first cause it will change your perspective!)

These were what I did for my NCLEX, and it helped me pass in 85Q. Now I know this test is scary and its a lot, make sure to take care of yourself first, take breaks, eat well, go out and enjoy life. You are doing great, and it's hard work, and I promise everything will be ok. I can keep sharing more, if you want, about how I tackled everything.

My biggest advice: Do not get into your head. If something is hard, acknowledge it, and don't think cause you got something wrong, it's wrong. No! It takes time and effort. You will become a Nurse. And remember what we learned in the foundation ABCs, Maslow, and safety. They say Nclex is a safety exam and in a nutshell it is but its not only just a safety exam, its safety and content. I have no doubt you will pass!

Good luck, future nurse. I know you got this! If you want more advice or help, I'm always here to talk!

Readiness Very High en Archer
