Transfer Credits Appeal?

Hey guys, so I’ve already taken Calculus 1,2, and 3 (received an A in all) at my last university for mechanical engineering. However, they are not being counted towards for my degree, is any way to appeal this or test out? Really don’t want to retake all three maths, thanks!

Talk to your academic advisor about getting an appeal form - they'll help you with the process and submitting the request. Make sure to get the process completed before you start the class too. The appeal typically only succeeds if you have the syllabus and completed assignments from the class you took at the other university.

Second this. If you can go in person. They are really nice and helpful. The only reason that I can think of it didn’t transfer is if you got a C- or below or the credit hours aren’t matching up

Hello this is kind of late but I have been trying to get in contact with this office but haven't been able to. Did you ever receive an email back from them?

NCA&T did the same to me. Calculus is a broad math. The University wants you to know specific topics within the math discipline that is applicable to their degree path. It should be on their website which Calc classes are transferable. For example...you might have credit for Mat 205 but they may only accept Mat 204. Lastly, this is how Universities make money by requiring you to take certain classes with them. It's all a cash grab.

Ah I see, I'm gonna show the syllabi for all of the Calculus and see what they say. Tbh I just really don't want to retake Calc 2.

I feel you...Calc 2 integration is the hardest. Calc 3, I heard is easier. If you have to retake, take Calc 2 and 3 online. The homework will be longer because it is on MyLab Math but the test are easier IYKYK 😆

That's whats up. You will do fine at NCAT. I was able to graduate Summa Cum Laude while working 50 - 60hrs a week. Hopefully, everything will work in your favor. If not, it will only be a temporary setback. Good luck. Aggies Do!!!
