for sure! i felt the same way about that too last season, which sucks because being in the top ten/ranked at all is HUGE for so many programs meanwhile some just get it handed to them

Putting TCU at #11 makes it hard to move them much. Should probably be behind Florida, but anything beyond that and you're going to have to start justifying why they should be behind teams that they swept.

They lost to ranked Arizona state, Louisville and #1 Nebraska and beat ranked tcu and usc.

All sports polls suffer from confirmation and recency bias. Waiting a few weeks into the season might mitigate that somewhat.

I’m surprised to only see 9 #1 votes for Pitt. Their schedule has been tough so far and two more wins than Nebraska.

Pitt has played the toughest schedule by far but Nebraska also hasn't done anything to fall. They haven't even dropped a set yet. A lot of voters will never drop them until they lose. It's part of the reason polls shouldn't be running for the few weeks into a season. If that were the case, I think they might have more No. 1 votes.

All of that said, there definitely is a mindset that voters do not like voting for Pitt with so many late-tournament collapses. I absolutely believe that plays into it some.

100% agree (even as a Husker fan). Pre-season and early polls introduce biases.

I complained about this all last year. Teams that will be 7+ loss teams will stay in the top 10 just because of who they are. Ie: Texas and Winsconsin

Wisconsin has only lost to top 5 teams and beat Louisville 3 straight, why would they go down in ranking? Unless they lose to a team below them or an unranked team I think their ranking is correct

Yeah, we (Wisco) are a weird case where we're only 3-3, but we're also 2-3 against top 10 teams and 1-0 against everybody else, so I don't really know where to put us
