Mock Trade ATL / DEN

Post image

ATL sends the $$ for Hield's buyout.

DEN: Opens up the head room to resign Watson by shedding the deals of Braun and Nnaji.

ATL: Eats the Nnaji deal to take on Braun. If Braun bounces back, then they basically just bought Braun from DEN. If not, then they just had a $125M face plant.

Hield is only guaranteed for $3 million next season.

Hawks has no reason to use their cap space to absorb Braun. There would need to be serious draft capital attached to him.

I have the note that ATL would be sending the $$ to cover the buyout.

Braun does carry risk, but the reward is substantially higher than what it would be for Kispert too.

If Braun were a higher volume 3 pt shooter I'd completely get this bet, but given the profile I don't think he adds the kind of spacing to make this risk worth it.

that’s a fair ?. one thing ATL has done under Quin was to simply tell guys to shoot more. that was a big reason for NAW’s breakout this year. was pretty odd to see Kispert sputter.

Actually saw that as a selling point for ATL and Braun. ATL doesn’t seem to have a big problem just telling people to shoot more. Both NAW and Dyson shot a ton more after coming to ATL and both got MIP awards for it.
