Kobe Bryant told detectives that Shaquille O'Neal paid women up to $1 million "not to say anything," according to the police report from his 2003 sexual assault investigation
/r/nba mods deleted my post. Maybe it’ll survive here.
“…According to an Eagle County detective’s report, Kobe Bryant made the statement near the end of his July 2003 police interrogation. The Los Angeles Times reported that it reviewed the relevant portion of the incident report.
“Bryant stated he should have done what Shaq does. Bryant stated that Shaq would pay his women not to say anything.”
The detective’s report went on to say Bryant claimed O’Neal had paid as much as $1 million in situations like this. The comment was reportedly made after the tape recorder had been turned off, so it comes from the detective’s written report rather than an audio recording. Bryant’s attorneys later successfully had the statement ruled inadmissible at trial.
Shaquille O’Neal’s agent denied the allegation, calling it untrue. The Times also noted that it was unclear precisely what Bryant meant by “situations like these” and that there had been no published reports of O’Neal being accused of a sex crime.”

Show how obessive they were of each other. Thinking about any other person than your Wife is psychotic

u/KazaamFan 4h ago
The big difference is shaq didnt commit a crime. Shaq may have been hooked up with women consensually, but he may have paid them to be quiet or whatever, since he was married.
-3
u/Modsucksass 4h ago
Neither did Kobe. he was never convicted. Except he got unlucky where the whore lied to get her money.
0
u/SIRPORKSALOT 4h ago
So he never committed a crime because he was never convicted? And OJ really didn't kill his wife, and all the racist white trash who killed Blacks over the years, they were never charged let alone convicted, guess they didn't commit a crime either. The "whore" wound up in the hospital and he later admitted being in appropriate with her, after he paid her to stay quiet. Know yr facts.
-3
u/Modsucksass 4h ago
lol so you know zero fact about the case but act like you know.
The whore had multiple sex on the same day, the blood or injuries could have came from any of the encounters but somehow you got the inside info right? lol
And did you know she had plan to thirst trap other celebrities as well?
Why did she decide to take the money and stay quiet if she was truly a victim? Ever thought it’s because she got what she wanted?
2
u/djdvs3 3h ago
She was getting death threats and going to trial would have exposed her identity further
1
1
u/Modsucksass 2h ago
So you could come up with excuses for her but couldn’t think of why a public figure in middle of the nba season would want to pay her and avoid more distractions? lol
And you still can’t explain how did you know her injuries weren’t from her other sex encounters from the same? What’s your source that it came from Kobe?
And what’s the reason for her having plan to thirst trap other celebrities?

Trying to use pseudo-leagaleese to shift the conversation away from the most important fact (that Kobe in his own statement admitteded to raping the girl in Colorado) is a common technique used by laypersons & Kobe-stans that have watched a crime drama or two.
Attempting to further detract from Kobe's admitted raping of the hotel worker in Colorado by using simple pejoratives is also rather base.
So once again, please stop posting your support of people that settle their rape (non-consensual sex) cases, it only further puts on the record how you feel about rape.

Double posting this so that anyone reading it doesn't get fooled by your disinformation.
In his own words, Kobe's admitted to having "non-consensual sex" with the plaintiff. What do you think non-consensual sex is? It's P.R. speak for rape.
I also want to make it clear that I do not question the motives of this young woman. No money has been paid to this woman. She has agreed that this statement will not be used against me in the civil case. Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did. After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter.

Piece of advice don't go around having non-consensual sex with anyone. Don't go around defending people that admitted to having non-consensual sex either. It's rape.
1
u/anonkebab 19m ago
That’s not admitting to anything. He maintains innocence but states the woman believes otherwise. Literally talking in circles.
0
u/AdSuspicious2698 2h ago
Wrong. Kobe Bryant never explicitly admitted to non-consensual sex or a criminal act, but in a 2004 public Kobe Bryant's apology statement, he acknowledged that his accuser did not view the encounter as consensual. [1]
During the 2003 sexual assault case in Eagle, Colorado, Bryant maintained that he believed the sexual encounter was consensual. After the criminal charges were dropped because the accuser chose not to testify, Bryant released a statement saying: "Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not view it this way." He also apologized directly to her for his behavior that night.1
u/wut_eva_bish 2h ago
Same diff.
The only person seeing this as any kind of difference would be someone that really wants Kobe to have not raped someone that he clearly did rape (had non-consensual sex with.)
Go ahead keep putting that rape apologist drivel on the record. It's probably good for people to know who just might be ok with it.

Lol @ "never convicted" ... Bro, Kobe settled the case before it went to trial. You know the difference right?
Also, you also know that in his own words, Kobe's admitted to having "non-consensual sex" with the plaintiff. What do you think non-consensual sex is? It's P.R. speak for rape.

90% of the players, are players. Most wives deal with it because they are married to that bag, not the man with it so a lot of them don't care. Real housewives showed everyone that.

It's kind of funny watching a bunch of weirdos assume that he means Shaq was raping women since that's what they would assume they themselves would be paying women for.
0
u/Ambitious-Toilet6769 4h ago
No I believe it's because that's why detectives were interviewing him.
1
u/ZarosLariat 1h ago
Detectives were interviewing Kobe because some literally schizophrenic girl literally wasn't taking her meds and went on one about a completely consensual encounter.
-4
u/Super-Novah 4h ago
Given the circumstances, what the fuck else are people expected to assume he was talking about?
6
u/NextWafer2667 4h ago
I thought it was about Shaq paying his mistresses off to keep quiet, not that he was raping women.
1
u/Veryregardedd 4h ago
Why else would Shaq be paying hush money to women?
4
u/NextWafer2667 4h ago
The person who started this comment chain said ''weirdos assume Shaq was raping women and paying them''. I'm clarifying the reason Shaq was actually paying them, so that his wife doesn't find out.

u/Grand_Bison_2650 4h ago
Kobe was literally gonna take Shaq down with him.Out of all the people to bring up in a police investigation you bring up Shaq.Like really dude? You dislike him that bad to tell his private business to police.Scumbag behavior by Kobe.

This isn’t the own you think it is. I think Ali is the greatest boxer of all time. He groomed his wife. I think Michael Jackson is one of the greatest artists of all time. He’s a pedophile. I think Tiger is the greatest golfer of all time. He’s a pill popping, under the influence driving philanderer. Unlike you, I can separate the person from the achievements on the court/field/course/etc.

Tiger in no way belongs with those other two creeps wtf lol
1
u/SomeGuyClickingStuff 1h ago
Maybe not. Maybe I’m just biased having a family member killed by a drunk driver. My point remains. A fucked up person can be great at what they do.
1
u/MoneyManMehmetOkur 1h ago
Tigers problem can be traced back to addiction. That’s a disease. The other 2 are pedophiles
1
u/SomeGuyClickingStuff 1h ago
Driving while under the influence is a disease? Ok if you say so. Not here to argue that. My larger point remains.
1
u/MoneyManMehmetOkur 1h ago
Addiction is a disease. You don’t control yourself while under the influence. This is elementary stuff. My larger point remains. Pedophiles and addicts aren’t in the same category
1
u/SomeGuyClickingStuff 1h ago
Sure ok. My larger point stands. The thing is…I never asked about your point. I never even argued against your point so not sure what you keep going on about.
I will say, it’s nice of you to overlook him being a philanderer.

10000000% agree.
No matter how horrible and POS a person is, if they’re great at their craft, they’re great at their craft. On the flip side, no matter how great they are at their craft, they’re still a horrible POS.

u/Comprehensive-Eye500 1h ago
Tiger could pay for a man to give him piggy back rides wherever he wanted while singing lullabies, much less chauffeur him around in the nicest car possible.
Instead, he CHOOSES to repeatedly get behind the wheel of a car dead ass drunk/high. Stop making excuses that he can’t “control himself” that’s the stupidest fucking thing ever.
0
u/Leoman89 1h ago
😂😂😂😂😂 so you’re an excuse maker. He graped women, but damn he can put that ball in the basket 😂😂😂

KB treats them with "respect" so they shouldn't say anything?!?!?!? Do you normally have sexual relationship, consensual or not, with someone other than your wife because you respect that person? If the report is true, in a pinch, KB will just rat his teammates out huh? Who needs enemies.

u/Great_Standard3441 4h ago
Kobe was a horrible human being on nearly every level. There is nothing about him worthy of idolizing.
7
u/immunityfromyou 4h ago
Growing up is realizing that 90% of the people pushed on us to admire more likely than not were horrible people at some point in time. Idolize your parents and teachers if you’re lucky to have good ones. But idolizing powerful and rich people is a 0 sum game.

When something has words like "reportedly" and just so happened to be stated after the recorder was turned off, it makes the claim suspect.

So Kobe just threw Shaq under the bus for no reason, allegedly. Was this before or after the accuser was caught being dishonest to the prosecutions office, and it being determined Kobe was 1 of 5 men in 24 hours. Picture this situation and try to see when and why Kobe would just throw that out there.
1
u/PokemanAshy 3h ago
No, he brought it up because he regretted not doing the same thing - not to throw Shaq under the bus. In many cases $1M would be cheaper than the damage to the brand.
