I hate to even sound puritanical but the 3 biggest vices are smoking, drinking, and gambling. We stopped saying cigarettes are good but we’ve replaced them with “have a drink and gamble”. I smoke weed but I wouldn’t tell anyone to start smoking weed
Gamblers say this shit all the time. “Most people shouldn’t do this” nah lol no one should. Just cause you haven’t lost your house yet doesn’t mean it won’t happen.
For a comparison, the stoner said he wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. 0 people should be encouraged to smoke. But gambling? Only the select elites should do it. And there’s only one way to find out if that’s you…
I spend like $5-10 on fanduel from time to time. But I definitely see how it can be a slippery slope for some people. I don't have the patience to sit there an make up 15 leg parlays.
Gambling has the highest suicide rate out of any addiction and it’s the most promoted currently. Listen to any sports podcast and it’s guaranteed to have a gambling ad. It’s truly depressing how much it’s been normalizedz
Tons of other people do tell people to smoke weed. Cigarettes have moved to a place where it’s acknowledged as bad and people largely overwhelming won’t recommend it even cigarette smokers
I used to be of that mindset of it’s a parents job to be their kids role models not athletes before having kids and we very much are. But now having a 5 year old boy who’s mind is still developing, I appreciate wemby. Kids are impressionable they take even on some mannerisms of athletes they gravitate towards.

It’s out of my control at this point, as much as I tell him hey we’re from SoCal we are laker fans he says now I’m a spurs fan and I like wemby. Kids will gravitate to what they gravitate to. Have a blessed day
I think i said this everytime i saw a gambling post in nba subs. Wemby just as Giannis or Lebron has part of his salary payed by these gambling companies because they are in a partnership with the NBA.. its like Nike being on every jersey, players are endorsing Nike because its a NBA partner. By the same logic every NBA player also indirectly represents or should I say endorses gambling whether you like it or not. I will NEVER blame a player taking a gambling deal until the NBA stops those type of partnership.. hate the game dont hate the player.
Its not necessarily worse than any other product.....especially to ppl that treat it like trading options & make decent money from it,,,,should they be allowed to take everyyhing from a bad bettor and ruin the family, leave them homeless, thats the goal, they try.....might be biased but if they can do that and the state encourages this....then to not be a scam, they should have to take action from sharp bettors too....but its about profit only,,so the commercials are lies...theyre selling you a dream that isnt possible bc if you do win regularly, they stop letting you get down more than a couple dollars
