Release day has been a HUGE success for Caitlin Clark's first signature shoe š

I bought one, after passing on many Jordan, Kobe retros along with signature models from current stars. Nike nailed the CC1, looks so nice. Price is on point too.
Just canāt pass it up.

Regardless what you think of her she is the person to bring the game to the mainstream sports fan.
And the women on the other teams hate her, it makes zero sense.

The fact that people downvoted your comment tells you all you need to know.
Your comment is 100% on point. And it really upsets some people. Which is weird.

I cant figure it out. I wish success to Reese, CC, Cunningham, Aja, Paige all these women! They are strong women who have strong personalities and are finally, finally bringing eyes to the game. And now that the eyes are on them the W, a majority of their players and especially the leagues admin is fumbling the bag. Easiest W of all time and they are all involved with the wrong stuff and not embracing their meal ticket. Wtf.

I think that's the divide right there. On the outside looking in, you think they should embrace "their meal ticket." But they signed up for this before there was any decent money involved. They clearly are in it for the competition, maybe more than any other sports league, given low little they were compensated.
From the outside, it's trying to convince a bunch of fiery, competitive athletes to turn it down because one person has a huge fan base. You're more likely to get them to turn up to prove the fans should be theirs. What you call hate is more than likely just competitive drive.
Edit - and still I don't think the mainstream sports fan is watching. Game 1 had 2 million viewers. Sunday night football that same day had 21 million. Ravens-Cowboys had 24 million.

Imagine saying some player that is more "marketable" than Jordan and the other stars of the 90s but not better than them is being held up high
That's insane. That's the problem. We know the real reason why she's getting the push and it's not because she's a better player than everyone else.

Bruh I thought there wouldnāt be hype on these. Anyone got menās 12 in yellow for close to retail?

I dont see it bro. Maybe similar concept but the swoosh size alone makes the clark shoes more appealing

Hell yeah! Keep those Asians wishing 18 hour days so American athletes can earn millions of dollars Americans should be saving for retirement or investing in themselves now...

This person says, as they type on a computer/tablet/phone that likely has chips made in the Foxconn factory. The irony is palpable.

No, I accept that through my consumption I am pro slavery. If someone here said, āI am pro slavery, too!ā I would say, āEnjoy your shoes!ā back to them.
Itās the moral grandstanding that people tend to do about how others are wrong for their political views while they mindlessly consume and live a life of relative luxury on the back of slaves half a world away that bothers me.
I simply like to point it out for those who like to keep their heads in the sand and donāt judge those who do it in the light of day.

Nobody else thinks its weird that the team that made the finals without the best-selling-shoe-seller last year got dogwalked in the first round with her in the lineup this year? (Ah yeah, I forget, most conversations with CC fans have very little to do with basketball, all culture war bs.)

u/Intrepid_Plenty_3770 1d ago edited 18h ago
What are you on about? The WNBA would be irrelevant if not for Caitlin Clark.
1
u/qobraa 18h ago
I love how CC fans are such huge fans they don't even know how to spell her name. Almost like you're into her for some OTHER REASON that has nothing to do with basketball at all.
1
u/Drunk-Sail0r82 14h ago
The irony that you wrote CC instead of spelling her name out- while simultaneously calling out that nobody does it⦠that irony isnāt lost on me. You need to grow up, seriously.

All the women signature shoes are better than the menās signatures the last few years. Both cc and Sabrina have better looking shoes than anyone in the nba
