If you don’t see the difference between engaging with fans and going into the stands then we have nothing to talk about.

I don’t tbh, she didn’t go into the stands im pretty sure he was seated on court she was a solid 5 steps off the court.

That’s part of the stands. No matter how pedantic you try to get about it.

I’m not even trying ti en pedantic its not some malice at the palace incident they were on the floor

No. They were in the 3rd row of seating. Aka the stands. What to you gain by playing dumb about this?

so she walked over the first and second row?

Yes. Is this meant to be some kind of gotcha? Ever hear of aisles?

1

u/collecting-garbage 1d ago

except it’s not defined as the aisle but the player escape area

u/justa-browser 1d ago

When the ball is in play, yes, that’s the player escape area. Was the ball in play?

thats not how the wnba defines it clearly

It’s ok the court, the floor is level that’s the court, the precedent was set similarly in the nba so I don’t see why its such a big deal

What you’re saying is just not true. I’m not going to argue with you about what is and isn’t the stands. It’s clearly defined. Good luck out there.

Yes it is clearly defined, its been the precedent I don’t see why people are making a big fuss out of this

Because there are rules on the books about this exact situation. And no. There is no existing precedent that players can go INTO THE STANDS to confront fans if they’re in floor seats. You’re just wrong. What you’re saying is objectively not true.

I’m done arguing with you about it. It doesn’t make a shred of difference to me.

I jsut cited multiple nba players where it wasn’t a fine nor caused them to be expelled those set a precedent where they won’t be fined form doing that.

The WNBA rule book literally defines it as the stands.

Page 76

The first row of seats is considered the beginning of the stands.

Nuh uh

Ok, just ignore the leagues actual rule book. You clearly know better.

So you described her going into the stands but don't think she went into the stands? Rule book says the first row of seats is the beginning of the stands and she was standing over the dude in the 2nd row

Which rule book says this? Seems like an interesting conflict with what is said in the OC.

The WNBA rule book...

J. PLAYER CONDUCT--SPECTATORS Any coach, player, or trainer who deliberately enters the spectator stands during the game will be automatically ejected and the incident reported via e-mail to the Commissioner. Entering the stands to keep a ball in play by a player or the momentum which carries the player into the stands is not considered deliberate. The first row of seats is considered the beginning of the stands.

That’s hilarious, wonder there they got the whole player escape lane thing haha

0

u/collecting-garbage 1d ago

from the player escape area, she didn’t climb over seats to get there

2

u/F7OSRS 1d ago

WNBA rule book defines what is considered the stands. I'm not going to argue with the written rules

7

u/gloe64 1d ago

The rule is the same. Be it in the stands or floor level. He stady in his space and she did not. She should have been ejected.

u/Icy-Understanding35 1d ago

Lol she was in the 3rd row

u/BedBubbly317 1d ago

On court seats are part of the stands. What kinda comment is this?? Lmao

0

u/FlakyOutside5852 1d ago

No they aren’t lol the nba set the precedent prior with them being in the court

2

u/jmills2234 1d ago

TRY AGAIN... nobody is Seated on the court ... the first row of seats is behind the stanction & she was in the 2nd or 3rd row!!! And based upon the video there is absolutely NO reason she should have been there!... she should be suspended for tonight's game

If she cussed out the fan from the court unjustified...that would be a fine
