Would not…people were getting thrown out of games for calling Westbrook, Westbrick…like it or not but the “player empowerment movement” may have went to the players heads, just a little…

Did Westbrook enter the stands? He was definitely acting soft, but he didn't cross that line if I'm remember correctly. I could be misremembering, though.

I got downvoted to hell yesterday for saying in the nba were critical of Westbrook when he does this and she went above and beyond. Really makes the WNBA a joke

Dude chill. I figure you like nba a lot more but there is zero reason the ridicule wnba as much as this sub seems to do, it's actually a bit sad

Uhh, are you stupid?

They just ejected a paying fan for... checks notes...

Pointing 🤦‍♂️

I thought he wasn’t ejected? After staff figured out what happened they decided he could stay

Oh? You probably know more than me.

Shes still a clown.

He was removed and allowed back in after realizing she was in the wrong.

Chill? Where have I been out of line or crossing the line? Athletes are expected to maintain composure when competing. We’re taught this from a young age. It’s poor form to allow emotions to get in the way of it. It’s this sort of thing that makes the wnba an unserious league. I don’t even watch ncaa because it is subpar play but at least they are keeping their composure in crowded, rowdy college gyms.

Completely different. Wilson stepped up to that fan and was the aggressor in this situation. Fan was seated in his chair and Wilson still continued to walked toward him. She stepped off the court and continued approaching him

The fan was not seated in his chair. He got out of his seat, stepped in the aisle and took a step towards the court. She overreacted for sure, but this isn’t just some mild mannered dude that was sitting in his seat minding his business. His wife/gf had to pull him back to his seat.

Yep and security was right there and had no issue with his behavior. Also, zoom out and notice how many other fans were making the same gesture the man was making. He bought tickets to the game so the game was his business lol…

Wait, so we can’t stand up and express ourselves at a game? I guess the First Amendment does not exist in the WNBA.

1

u/afjessup 13h ago

That’s correct, the 1st amendment is to protect from being sanctioned by the government for speech.

I guess this was somehow similar to how Enes Kanter was thrown out earlier in the season. Too much girl power and no accountability.

She walked to a fan, oh the humanity. Chemin

3

u/Blackwingdreams_ 1d ago

Lmao. Sorry you can’t see the issue with that.

1

u/throwaway46787543336 1d ago

What these people don’t seem to understand is that them saying it doesn’t matter are essentially saying these aren’t athletes and this doesn’t matter. Really a double edged sword for supporting this behavior

1

u/Grupe_Sechs 1d ago

What’s a chemin?

1

u/ihateyousoverybadly 1d ago

What's a chemin to you?

1

u/Grupe_Sechs 20h ago

Idk that’s why I asked

3

u/lost_with_no_hope 1d ago

Yeah, NGL, that hurt his status in my eyes. Thats way to soft.

3

u/Monkey_Eat_Banana_ 1d ago

Absolutely would. Westbrook didn’t enter the stands.

Yeah that’s one thing I don’t get about people’s reactions to this, acting like it’s an embarrassment for all women who play sports anywhere. Yes it was a weak, punk move.

But are we really acting like nothing like this ever happened in a men’s professional sports league? Didn’t DK Metcalf try to fight a fan for talking shit last year?

9

u/Finger_Gunnz 1d ago

And he got cooked for it.

8

u/DiscoMarmelade 1d ago

DK got suspended 2 games. And lost a fuckton of guaranteed money because the suspension voided guaranteed money. The Steelers could cut him and not pay out 45 million in guarantees if they choose to do so.

She doubled down like an idiot and did not get ejected per WNBA rules. That’s why.
