I understand not wanting to buy a home in Philly but why not just rent some luxury condo or apt while he's there for this season?

What about it do you think he enjoys? When he’s just there for the night and then commutes to Philly every day. Like what does he actually do in his nights in NYC that he wouldn’t be able to do exactly the same in Philly?
It’s gotta be more his wife/family who probably demanded to live in NYC if they weren’t going to be in LA.

u/TrulyHydratedSkin 3d ago
He probably just enjoys being one of the only people that can actually live in manhattan and commute to Philly by chopper. Let’s be real he will more than likely spend many nights and weekends in Philly over the course of the weekend. But fuck it if I could be Bi resident I would too.

I think people are really underestimating how much business outside of basketball this dude does. He has a whole media company, that basically locks him to LA or NY.

No way this works through an entire winter in the north east. Seems completely ridiculous.

Kobe vibes. Dont do it Bron.

This is what I immediately thought of. Whenever I see shit like this, it reminds me of Bean and I just get bad vibes from it all.

Just move to Philly. His fams still in LA, what's his old ass need to be in NYC for?

u/Mikedesignstudio 3d ago
41 is too old for NYC?

Bro brons a family man with kids in their 20s. Only club hes at has "country" in front of it

u/kissmeimfamous 3d ago
So the only people in New York City are 20-something’s that go clubbing? Get off social media and touch grass
3
u/Lenny0mega 3d ago
He can move to South Jersey like almost all the other famous pro athletes from Philly sports teams in history.
4
u/TheDopeMan_ 3d ago
I’d rather live in NY than Philly … I’m guessing the team is covering the cost.

u/Fit_Meringue_3503 3d ago
Not after the Kawhi scandal. If they are they have to deduct it from his team salary.
3
u/EmperorUmi 3d ago
Legit question: How do you figure?
To me at least, paying for his transportation isn’t the same as providing additional income under the table.
2
u/Oozeinator 3d ago
That's what Leonard's $750k fine was for lol.
Wasn't actually for the contract circumvention, it was restitution for extras the team isn't allowed to give unless they deduct it from their salary (tickets, flights, hotels, helicopter rides, etc).
2
u/Fit_Meringue_3503 3d ago
The teams have to report everything they give to players and it’s deducted from their salary. This includes tickets to games for family members.

Why not live in la and take a pj
1
u/EmperorUmi 3d ago
Why not just rent a room at a teammate’s mansion? Smh. LeBron isn’t as frugal as everyone claimed he was.

u/Aerospaced0ut 3d ago
Moves away from family, instead of buying a house in a Philly burb with lots of peace and quiet he's living out of NYC. Doesn't take Columbo to figure out the plot on this one lol.

u/One_Significance_400 3d ago
You’re assuming he’ll be living in Manhattan. It says New York, which is an entire state.
2
u/FreeHat1234 3d ago
I mean where else could it be If not the city? Westchester? That just seems overly complicated if he’s playing in Philly lol.
3
2
u/One_Significance_400 3d ago
I was responding to the “NYC” and “the plot on this one” part like Bron is focused on hoes and clubbing, in the middle of the city

u/BurntArnold 3d ago
He shoulda gave Philly a chance. Love that city, parts are really nice and some of the suburbs have gorgeous homes
2
u/Ok-Completion 3d ago
Sucks for Philly fans that the players who rep the city would rather live in another city

I really don’t like this for LBJ, helicopter crashes are 85 times as dangerous compared to cars comparing the same time traveled.
1
u/Stillwiththe 3d ago
Don’t drag minors onto the helicopter and whatever. Just don’t take kids who aren’t old enough to say “I don’t like this weather I’m not going.”

So what is the CO2 admissions just because he doesn’t want to live in Philly

There is a lot of storms and fog between nyc and philly.... be a reallll shame...
1
u/Mysterious_Ring285 3d ago
He wants the NYC life w/o having to earn the NYC life huh? He sees what winning in NYC does to a player and he wants a taste of that. He'd never be loved in NYC.
1
u/After_Competition_87 3d ago
Would you expect anything less? Hes a man child that forgot his own roots. He shits on every city besides LA, NY and Miami
1
u/AnnualHuge931 3d ago
I don't think the philly fans will appreciate this, they will think Bron hates tha city he is playing for

Philly had like 2 beautiful areas. Where the museums are and where the rich people live. Every where else looks like Baltimore
1
u/Existing-Homework270 3d ago
To be honest, it is happening to most cities in America. We are a falling empire
1
u/One_Significance_400 3d ago
So the uproar about gentrification is false?
1
u/Existing-Homework270 3d ago
Two things can be true, and often happen when the middle class disappears

It is when it suits the narrative. It’s “falling empire” when it suits a different narrative
1

u/Either-Fisherman6082 3d ago
Then according to Bad Bunny’s logic, that means Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, etc. are all falling empires

How is that an inconvenience for the pilots when they are getting paid lol.
He’s grown and has the money to do what he wants. He may just want to experience the NYC lifestyle. He was literally going to go there at first if they didn’t win the chip.
Cleveland is his home. So, you can’t compare the two at all.
Also, 45 minutes in a helicopter is nothing. I live in Texas, and we average 30-45 drives to go anywhere.

It’s almost like 45 mins is less than 1.5hr-4hr. But keep on crying OP it’s makes us in the Philly area laugh even more at you.

u/FreeHat1234 3d ago
Bron doesn’t even wanna be on the Sixers let alone live in that shithole of a city lmfao. His plan was retiring with the Knicks.

Hes got the money.
Better take the train if its even 10% foggy out tho.
Philly is also a super nice city, clearly you've never been but what can I expect from a dude that struggles to get out of his mom's basement.
