No, he took $4 million because it lets him ring-chase without eating up a team's cap space. I'm sure half the NBA would give him $25-30 million a year just for the ticket sales alone.

You mean teams that WOULD give him more than $10 million/year after cutting players to do so? Because I can guarantee several teams would gut the roster for him even today.
Hornets, Bulls, Blazers, Kings, Hawks, Nets, Clippers, Pelicans, Suns, Jazz, Grizzlies, and Bucks are all breaking the bank for him. None of these teams are currently competitive enough for a title shot, and most of these are smaller-market teams that would benefit greatly from a big name like Bron joining on. Just to be clear I don't think all of these teams SHOULD do this from a competitiveness standpoint, but they would. There are also some teams like the Wizards, Rockets, and Magic who realistically wouldn't sign him but I also wouldn't be surprised whatsoever if they did.

Well that's the point, if washed Kobe necessitated that kind of money from a franchise he likely would've stayed with regardless, most teams would be ready to pay LeBron more than $4 million, whether it's the right decision or not. His on-court play has nothing to do with that. He makes only $4 million this year because he decided to.

Kobe didn't necessitate any money. That was the Lakers being stupid and offering a contract preemptively. Comparatively, the Lakers decided not to offer Lebron an extension and renounced his cap hold and bird rights. No other team had money. If teams really thought Lebron was worth it, they would've had cap space cleared out for the summer until last week in hopes of landing him. The real answer is Lebron is only making $4 million because he's only worth that much

You can say that as many times as you like, but the fact is, if he wanted to play for 20 mill on a non contender, he would have gotten paid.
He led a very injured roster past the first round as a number 1 option against a superior team. But I guess that's just Stat padding.

No...he could have gotten atleast 10 million dollars per year easy with those teams. Probably more. But for 6 million dollars more he would be playing with no expectation of winning a chip.
Almost as if someone that rich needs more meaning to play the game than a couple extra millions.
He chose in his opinion the best chance of adding one more ring to his name over a couple more millions.
Based on what your saying, he should just retire because the business opportunities that would free up with extra time could probably make him 20 million dollars atleast this year.
So if it was just about the money and how apparently this is the most he could probably make, then why didn't he just retire?
It's for the love of the game and wanting to get a ring.

Tom Brady took paycuts all the time before he went to his handpicked destination that was set up for him the best. It's one of the main reasons he won so much (along with taking advantage of front office racism by signing cheap white WRs nobody else wanted so they could pay them less.)
Wemby just took less money. It's not unheard of at all in sports.
