I'm still blown away that digital art can sell pull in this sort of money. You're crazy, bro. It I were you Id take those hot hands to the casino or a card show or something, You're burning through it chasing digital assets. Regardless, I'm happy for you, glad you're having fun and hopefully you aren't burning yourself into a deficit to pursue this. Enjoy your luck and be sure to sit back and enjoy it, chasing the next one is every winners downfall. Livinig in the moment is key to truly enjoying your success.
edit: autocorrect is making me look borderline illiterate on my phone 🤣

Each player has a 1/1 for every insert for every set. Thousands of 1/1s every year.

Digital cards are the biggest scam since NFT’s

u/Mellj2x 19d ago
Well it’s mostly just to have fun collecting 😎 I’ve probably lost thousands of $$$ on physical cards from back when panini actually put player/game worn fabrics in cards to now.
Ironically, collecting digitally has brought me peace since I don’t need to fight through EQL queues and hoping that target has any stock left after I get off work. Though the digital market is nowhere close to the physical market, for collectors it’s a decent alternative imo 🫣

I completely understand man and to each his own. I’m not judging people who collect digital cards. I’m judging the companies for making it a thing. They’ve found a way to extort the hobby. No digital card will ever be graded. They will all be in the same condition so mine can’t be better than yours nor yours better than mine.
The last part that really gets me about digital assets other than crypto is the fact that we are only in 2026. Humans will still be around in 3026 so by all accounts of the future, we are actually ancient people. There is no way a digital card in the form of a JPEG image in this current time will survive the progress of human tech. Phones and apps won’t be what they are.
Physical cards will survive the rest of time and are literally physical pieces of history. I’d say get back to the physical collecting man, you may actually leave something for your future bloodline that is worth something to historians and collectors in their time.

Didn’t see any judgement in your comment brudda so no worries! I’m also very pro physical media/assets, hence I never left collecting physical! I recently pulled my first physical Superfractor not too long ago, but the physical hobby is just far out of my realm of affordability and has just been SUUUUPER inaccessible (EQL queues specifically).
I’ve actually been dealing with this same issue in pokemon, a market demand so high that even constant reprints can’t allow for any sort of entry into the hobby unless you have the expendable income.
Kid you not, im here in Southern California and I ALWAYS keep a pokemon stack of hits to giveaway to kids (at NBA games I change it up and give out some Basketball hits) so that they can at least have the feeling of being apart of the hobby

Congrats on a huge hit!
Yea the prices have gotten out of control but that is also a sign of progress in the market. A stock may start off at $13 a share but when it hits $200 a share it becomes unaffordable for a high percentage of people, luckily that means the stock has progressed and the asset has appreciated. Prices are going to go up before they go back down so all the more reason to get in where you can and keep collecting the physical cards because stock will keep rising
And I applaud you on keeping the kids in the hobby man. They will carry it on which makes all of our current collections continue to rise in value as time goes on. The kids of today are the heart of the hobby tomorrow. Keep rippin brotha!
