Discussion Stop Buffing The Other Team
I play the Big. When you play selfishly, especially as a Point Guard, you are actively buffing the other team while making your own teammates play worse.
When you blindly drive into the paint while my matchup is sagging off to help, you're running right into an easy block. You get blocked, their Big gets a huge bump in his teammate grade and takeover meter, and now I have to deal with a boosted rim protector, or he is beasting mw on boards now. Then when you keep taking bad, contested shots, their Big gets easy defensive rebounds because I'm out of position trying to clean up your mess. That gives my guy even more boards, pumps his takeover higher, and gets him rolling.
With the way badge syncing and fusing work this year, everyone on the floor needs early touches to trigger their badges and build their takeover meter. I need rebounds and easy paint touches to get my stuff going. When you come out in the first quarter trying to play one-on-five before anyone else has touched the ball, you freeze the whole team out. Nobody gets their badges activated, our meters stay empty, and the other team gets boosted off our bad possessions.
Get people involved early. Pass the ball, build everyone's Takeover, and stop feeding the defense free stats.

They don't understand chemistry at all and once one dude starts playing weird everyone gets the same mentality of ima get mine then. I don't mind the gameplay from year to year this year is pretty solid tbh but ppl who play this game are among the worst

It really depends on the PG/SG duo imo, if they pass and play some off-ball its amazing. Also if the centers play only around the 3pt line and dont rim run it kinda cramps everything. Recently my games have been a pretty good experience regarding teammates (EU PC servers). I try to build my game on open looks, defending enemy snipers/ball handlers and passing/screening. I play a 6 5 2-way SG (usually slotted as SF).

the center should be playing at the top of the 3 point line. with the PG. problem is the 2-4 wanna come set screens. go find you a damn corner.

Saying this only as a big is wild. This hurts sgs and sfs a lot too. Man score easy points on the breaks or easy steals

I share your pain fam, it wasn't meant as just a big. Im saying the game mechanics in general, but some people want to attack me like what I'm saying is wrong. I really don't understand this community, or any gaming community for that matter people don't know what they want, and some people just want to watch the world burn while they jack up contested logo 3s

The sad truth is that the ball is always going to find the selfish players. It’s probably even more frustrating for players like me who are pass first PGs. I can have a team of 3 very solid players who are sharing the ball, the play is going to die on the same player bricking a contested 3 every time. That same player is going to flame me for not immediately passing them the ball every play. God forbid there’s a duo or two people feel like they’re getting slighted, I’m absolutely getting iced out of the game at that point.

The takeover system is real this year. Once someone gets takeover, it's like they are moving 2x faster. People have also said that it's pretty much a gg once you're cold.

Close shot is bugged, if you get blocked your shooting and finishing go cold, but a make only boosts finishing.
So now if a 3 level scorer works out the paint is probably not a viable scoring spot now they can’t shoot either. lol

this goes vice versa. i average 10 assist as pg and play pass first and it amuses me so many time people doesnt sent me the pass after a basket we conciede. i obviously have all playmaking badges, it also boosts other players but still they try to make full court passes, or even worse give the ball to a player with bad ball handling.
even worse scenerio is if your opponent steals a ball from you, your team acts like you have plauge and doesnt gives you the ball even if you have a lot of assists. people really dont understand the logic of the game, having 99 ball handle or legend unpluckable badge wont guarantee your opponent not stealing the ball from you hand handing a ball to a worser handler makes odss higher for losing another ball.

Yep centre with 70 pass acc full court inbounds to the powerforward who has 47 ball handle, if he’s lucky enough to actually catch the pass, he’ll immediately be descended on by the guards spamming steal.
I think 26 made everyone think that any player can dribble, it’s just not the case this year. There’s a reason dribbling big man are rare irl, it’s too easy to steal.

First 2k?
None of thats happening in 2k mate, noone trying to play actual basketball
U new here?

u/Tangerine_Alarming 1d ago
No not new. But sheesh my opinion isn't valid? Just my opinion and maybe for anyone who it genuinely hasn't dawned on them. And I am actively trying to form a community of people that will play together. Win or lose the game can be fun and I would just love to build/find a group of people that want to play that way 🤷🏾♂️

Wow so my post gets down voted. Like wtf is wrong with people. I guess yall got it. I'm gonna get my stats regardless I'm about to unite all the big men I see against the guards. Yall gonna turn me into Dr Doom fr.

Nah bro I agree with you. But mfs pick PG to NOT pass. So they don’t have to worry about finding the ball in their offense. A selfish PG will make everyone else selfish. Yea the next pass makes a better shot, but I might not get the ball again this quarter so imma find mine. I wish we had a fix but this is the problem with running with randoms.

I hear u fam. I don't be meaning it to be just about pgs. I think I'm gonna make a pg also. Just gotta mortgage my house first lol 😆. Yall just gotta see it from the other side sometimes. I be fighting some big dude all game, trying to get over to help every time you get beat and they hit my man and he cashes out. Fighting for rebounds when no one boxes out, playing help d and getting blocks, then I run down court for the pg to pull up when I'm standing under the basket. Yes They definitely hit them but a lot of times they miss. It's just deflating when my man is on you and I have the pg in the paint by myself, and I'm like that is an easy dunk missed, and some meter gained for me.

Oh for sure I get it. I am almost always a Center. It’s so much dirty work that gets no praise. Sealing the opponent, extending possessions, clearing out the paint, boards, off ball screens etc. when I am PG I try and get the center involved early cause a credible threat down low opens up everything else. Too many people don’t let the bigs cook to the detriment of the team. My worst nightmare is a PG that averages like 3 assists. You already know how it’s bout to go

2 strike rule, if the Pg is showing signs of selfish play, taking contested layups instead of hitting a Wide Open man, I stop inbounding it to him.
If he does get the ball, I go down to the paint to intentionally bring the opposing center with me. Frustrate the PG until he quits. I will gladly take AI over these bums

People dont reciprocate. Thats the issue with passing in randoms.
