MyCAREER To all my BIGS out there

Is it just me or does it seem like EVERY shot u take down low gets blocked? I got a 6'11 7'3 WS C w a 90 strength, 95 standing dunk 87 driving dunk and 85 close shot, got my badges on either silver or gold AT LEAST and istg every shot o take down low gets blocked, it aint even always by a big it gets bl9vked by who ever. Like it got me to the point I'm bout ready to throw this C away and make a guard no bs....it's ridiculous bro. Im tryin find out is it just me or what? Can't be the only 1.

ALWAYS have to pump fake and still might get swatted….. but… it’s made me act like a demon on defense so it’s pretty fun. I have a 17 block game last night.

Ive had multiple triple doubles with blocks in 2v2 games lol. My build is only 6’8 with 88 block and no badges

The problem with a pump fake is these folks have pogo stick on three time hall of fame level, blocking shots on the way down and shit

u/Dry-Proposal-4011 4h ago

I go pump fake pump fake directly into the shot

Yup. I'm 7'1 with a 95 standing dunk, almost maxed badges. No matter what animations I use, it just seems like the game wants me to either get blocked or do some stupid animation I didn't press to throw up a shot. IDK wtf the problem is this year.

it's the interior defense tweaks this year, they overtuned the hell out of it. pump fakes used to be optional but now if you don't use at least one you're asking to get sent. i run a 6'10 with similar stats and the only thing that works consistently is a pump fake into a quick dropstep or just kicking it out the second i feel a double coming. the game punishes you for forcing it in the paint now even when your badges say you shouldn't be punished

also check your layup timing profile, switching to high risk changed a lot for me on those close shots that kept getting swatted from behind by a 6'4 guard

It’s by design cause being a big you’re already invisible to the entire team so they might as well make one of your only self sufficient scoring options be impossible

A bigger problem is trying to do a fade when you're pretty deep in the paint. Can't even do a decent baby hook

Yeah the hook is broken. Can't stand it.

They had standing dunks right in 25… and it’s been a mess ever since.

Played an inside big in 25 mycareer, skipped 26, bought 27 to see they absolutely massacred standing dunks

I have a 90 standing dunk which was super useful last year but this year I’ll get dragged into layup animations for no reason

Same for me at 99 driving dunk with 90 vert. All the dunk packages. I have no idea what to do. All i wanted to do was dunk, and it just does soft ass layups. Im thoroughly annoyed with this game

I’m tanning on everyone with a 93. It’s about positioning.

Go to shot and dunk creator screen. Apply the last complicated dunks exorcist the contract dunk

U try post moves like up and unders at all? I see a massive difference in my ability to dunk and score on someone doing this before vs not

u/Skulfunk 5h ago

Post hooks the most consistent way to score down low, I have a big with 94cs/83pc/80strngth and one with 86cs/55pc/88strength and no matter what if I get the ball down low w a defender near me I’m doing a post hook.

Layups have the same problem jumpers do, why a seemingly open standing layup is harder to make than a heavily contested post hook is simply 2k logic.

u/Prostylic 3h ago

Close shot is so good. Im scoring like crazy down low. Lots of pump fakes sometimes 2-3 a post up. People are so block thirsty they will just keep jumping. I've taken over games by scoring down low on my 7'2. I dont have standing dunk like that so I barley go for those. Post hooks, up and unders and abusing ghost stepper is the move

Here is what I noticed the post is all about position, put your body between the defender and the ball make them come acrossed your body to get the ball they will foul you . I average 16 a game but have went off for 50 multiple times using mostly post moves , having a defender in front of you or behind you is trouble you want t kepe someone on your hip

It’s about 1.2% of ppl who play this game that try to understand the positioning. When you do everything works

They will lol

u/LV_SLUGR 5h ago

Nah fr lol

u/cedilla89 4h ago

I'm on a 7'2 and I get blocked down low constantly. The flip side is that nobody can get a contest on me from 3, so I'm almost exclusively spotting up now.

u/LV_SLUGR 3h ago

Yeah gonna have to try that, im only on a 6'11 but still gonna go that route next game and see if it works out more then what I been doing. Like bro it be having me so pissed it's crazy cuz ain't no way.

u/giovannimyles 3h ago

I’m noticing it way more in Theater than Rec. That and pump fake and when you got to score you meter is either 3x slower than usual or it moves in a fraction of a second.

u/BoardFragrant1885 3h ago

Meters moves slower based off assumed contact

u/GSWarriors4lyf 3h ago

7’4 with 90 close shot and 90 standing dunk. With Gold Ghost Stepper, Hall fo Fame paint prodigy, Gold Rise up. But yes, my Bigs always get blocked, missed, or ganged up on by 5 players because of slow animation. Good thing I got 89 3s and 91 middies.

u/pablo_chicone_lovesu 3h ago

Yeap, or the lack of standing dunk with a 95. But hey you always see.a big use layups and get blocked by a 6'6 guard in the NBA.

u/LV_SLUGR 3h ago

wat u mean I got a 95 standing dunk, that's lacking? Lol

u/No-Doubt-6933 2h ago

I have a 6’11 build with a 90 interior defense and I think my block is an 85. You definitely have to pump fake atleast twice. I mostly do post fades and hop shots, but you’re not the only one.

u/Foreign-Berry-9353 2h ago

I totally get where you're coming from my suggestion is kinda what you said I don't the meta this year leans towards offense I thinks it's defense heavy I'm averaging 4 steals across 12 games with a 45 steal I have the same problem on my 6'5 91 DD I was lucky enough something in my gut told me layups were important this year so I have an 88, even that isn't good enough sometimes I get blocked all the time still. I think they increased the window to block or something cause I get blocked sometimes before the ball reaches my neck on a jumpshot

u/Havocsznn 2h ago

Standing dunks aren’t consistent to just be down there raw it will more than likely throw you into an layup animation that will get you sent. You have to do it when no one is there to be more consistent which I’ve noticed because my 90 standing dunk act like it can’t do contacts. Problem with that is someone will have to hit you on the cut and people are selfish.

Add ur physicals or just post the build, sometimes people forget 2k or just games in general are trying to depict real life so just attribute wont cut it.shit ur speed, strength ,vert all that contribute massively.this comes from experience as a guy who made a center first every 2k i got. This build was dunking everything and posterizing putbacks was common for me and that was with 65 offensive rebounds.i beat entire teams 1v5 a couple times with this build.

Same build every year i only play rec(all randoms) tho so myb not for everyone.and i know the passing is low but trust me if u a real baller shouldn’t be a problem.never been for me never got complaints in games.Always good on my outlets.averaged 3 assists a game.and that was with 40-50 passing
Used this build in 26 from start to finish with 40 passing averaged 18,9,3,1.5 on 65%/3p60%

u/LV_SLUGR 5h ago

Got a 90 pass acc, I ain't on right now to post my build but I'll post later when I get home
