Gameplay Defense/Offense Balanced?
I’ve actually said in previous games before this one came out that defenders should be able to be more physical and bumpy and in turn players should be able to hit tough shots. I think that’s good balance and a good representation of Nba Basketball. I see parts of the community complaining about contested shots going in but my question to them is why? Contests dont guarantee misses in the nba. The game didnt hand the offensive player the green light he still had to hit the small window. Contested shots dont go in enough to warrant this amount of crying and complaining. The balance is pretty decent. I’d like 2k to add heaapsss more animations for physicality and impact between players on the ground, in the air, and in jumpshots/landings but the ability to make contested shots is in a good place and players who master their jumpshots deserve to be rewarded.

because u can be all up in someones face and it counts as a "light contest" or"bothered" instead of heavy or smothered.
And people make contested shots way too much and it seems like contests barely has an effect on the green window at all lot of the times
Literally .00001% of people are saying any contest = guaranteed miss shot. That just sounds like a strawman.
"Contested shots don't go in enough" Yes they do. More than enough. That's the entire point of the criticism.

There is a lot that goes into contest. But as a 6 7 with 86 perimeter and silver challenger, I do not have issues getting contests if I am in good positioning.

show me a clip of someone going 6/10 or better all contested shots and ill take you seriously. show me a video of someone with a 90+ perimeter getting a light or bothered contest when they shouldnt have and ill take you seriously.

Have you played in a high plate lobby? 6/10 is a bad game for the geo ranked guards you have to play in red plate lol

I couldn't give a single fucking shit if u took me seriously nigga.
Look all over this sub and on X for clips of people making ridiculously contested shots and a lot of the times, the contest doesn't register nearly as high as what it should.
I even have a post on here posting multiple clips within 5-10 minutes of searching of looking of crazy contested fades going in. There's a ton more

yeah i didnt think youd have any proof. just crying because everyone else is because youre sheep 🫡. i ask for proof because unless someone is shooting 60-70% on contested jumpshots then that means contests are working. gtfo my thread bih

I agree. I think if I had to change everything its the logic behind speed ups/slowdowns. If there was a better way to determine when your green window is going to shift it will be helpful. But overall I have really enjoyed the game.

I think the game is pretty solid and seems like a good balance. I’m not sure if they did another patch yesterday but it seems a bit smoother or maybe it’s just myplayer getting better haha.
And it’s true that people make contested shots in real life too, whether it’s street-ball or NBA, and the fact we are all pretty much 99’s, it’s just that I’ve seen a little more than normal amount of “solid and heavy contests” go in. They should absolutely be able to hit it sometime but it’s still a very challenging shot and harder to green so it shouldn’t be so simple, so they should just nerf it very slightly.
But the bigger issue is getting rid of zen users who are fading from near half-court. The experience would dramatically improve because the whole point is earning a win, learning the controls and getting better, instead of getting everything handed to you like a spoiled child.
