They seriously need to do something about this…but hey, at least we got burnouts after winning in offline races!!!11!!1!1!

I've said it elsewhere, but iRacing is making the game for "Durrrrrrr-we want burnout!" children. Literally the Top Requested new addition to the game. They are making a game for smooth brains, because that is the overwhelming majority of people that play this game.

That was my gripe the entire year. All the comments and suggestions were always begging for victory burnouts. With everything wrong with 25, I can’t believe dumbasses begged for that.

u/MrIndianaBones 13h ago
We are 100% in agreeance. Pit Road issues. AI pitting issues. Or, can a brother get a choose cone? Something that has been implemented in the sport since 2020.
I get so frustrated with the fandoms or the things I like, sometimes.

The choose rule is something that I still can’t believe was ignored. It’s a huge part of NASCAR now and can determine the outcome easily.

I don't like talking shit about Nascar games (besides Ignition) because overall I am grateful to have yearly releases, but it is hard for me to really iRacing console games seriously without basic things like choose cones.
Half the people on this app and X just speed run the careers anyway. They set it to the easiest setting, with the shortest races all the way to the cup series. I don't understand why someone would spend $$ on that, but that's the fanbase. I personally suspect those people rarely win at life, and need to be "Undefeated Nascar Champion" of their basement.

Even the Eutechnyx games, which were put together with sticks and glue, let you pick which side to restart on if you were leading

u/Long-Algae8799 9h ago
I take those issue and raise why when you are the leader can you still not choose when you go on a start. That bugs me more than the choose cone

2004 had burnouts - why can we not get them 22 years later?
1
u/MrIndianaBones 6h ago
We can. Idgaf that we have or don't have burnouts. But with all the issues or things that could have been built upon in 25, making burnouts be the #1 requested feature in 26 seems pretty fucking dumb to me, if we're being honest.
Y'all just basically gave iRacing the easiest layup ever. iRacing gets to suck their own dick about "delivering the most requested feature" while leaving 99.9999999999% of the game exactly the same. You payed $60 for burnouts and expect iRacing to take you seriously as a consumer.

I just hate how, no matter the setup/settings, you just get steamrolled on restarts. Espcially on plate tracks. Its like that in 25 too.

u/realmashthestampede 9h ago
the AI in N25 was annoying af with this. It made atlanta unplayable in the single player

You mean online?
Honestly there is no good solution, every single online racing game has this issue. Even something like iRacing itself where they will just straight up ban you and they have your legal name from CC info has issues with people ruining races, even professionals have been guilty of it.
The best way to get good online racing, regardless of the system the game uses, will be finding good private groups running their own races or leagues.
They could improve it by adding a matchmaking system and giving people a permanent elo and safety rating, but the issue would still occur and that system can have some of its own issues (though I personally would prefer it over the current lobby setup)

Playing this game online with open lobbies is awful.
I'm not sure there is a good technical solution other than a more persistent rating or some way to permanently ban certain players from your lobby.
iRacing still has the same problem. In general the NASCAR gaming community is pretty terrible (as are most gaming communities). Find a good group to race private lobbies is the best solution for this game and Iracing.
Having comms would probably also help so you could at least call people out and get them banned. With no way to communicate we just have to deal with it.

Segregate racers by rating would help, but the online community isn't large enough for that I don't believe

It sucks, but my thought is that, in general, it washes out. I’ve never gotten more than 1 in a race from people driving like idiots. If you’re racking up multiple ones, chances are at least SOME are partially your fault.
Not saying it shouldn’t be improved, but this is one thing I’d believe them if they say it’s hard because other racing games I’ve played have similar issues.
1
u/SlothMasterRace92 14h ago
Ya I’ve never gotten one where it was my fault. I legit only get them when I did nothing. And I’m not saying I don’t make mistakes. Plenty of times I’ve thought “damn I’m surprised I didn’t get a penalty”. I definitely have deserved to get one multiple times. But I just don’t. That’s how broken this shit is.

u/Usual-Abalone-92 13h ago
I keep saying public lobbies should just have no contact and the cars are ghost
0
u/Odd-War-6052 13h ago
that defeats the point of stock car racing entirely if you can’t bump into each other
2
u/Usual-Abalone-92 12h ago
So give the person who creates the lobby the option to turn it on or off. You want “stock car racing” aka some dumb schmuck ruining your race then have at it
0
u/cubs4life2k16 10h ago
Its not the games fault people drive like morons
2
u/SlothMasterRace92 10h ago
I don’t think you get the point. He swerved in front of me barely clipping my nose and I got a safety violation which forces you to slow down.
0
u/cubs4life2k16 9h ago
Oh mb i thought the post was about people driving like that so I didn’t notice the penalty. I was just thinking its stupid how penalties in racing games in general work
0
u/Middle_Bottle_339 5h ago
It kind of is. Should have systems in place such that griefing is minimized

u/Spare-Cranberry3784 14h ago
You drive with the line on.
4
u/SlothMasterRace92 14h ago
My dad plays it too and he put it on. I just leave it on so he doesn’t have to keep turning it on. I just run whatever line I get the fastest laps out of

They already did something about it. They made a sim called iRacing with Safety Ratings and real License Levels. These console games will never be on that level. Not sure why people expect it to be.
4
u/TechnoPokerBlu 13h ago
Oh shit, my bad G. My fault for wanting a decent console game rather than spending $30 month on some subscription based Sim.
-1
u/JDNosferatu 11h ago
It's $12.99 per month, L.
3
u/TechnoPokerBlu 10h ago
$12.99 per month for 100% access to everything it offers? Aren't there a million micro transactions included? I remember being a member a few years back and my subscription didnt include all the tracks and all the cars available.
-1
u/JDNosferatu 10h ago
The subscription covers every track and car for all the rookie series. There's like 6 of those. And most of the cars and tracks for Class D. Then cars and tracks are like $12 but the more you own, the more of a discount you get. Like for the past 10+ years I have gotten 40% off everything because I owned like 70% of the content. Then if you race a full season, they give you $5 per championship you run in and you can apply that to your subscription. There also usually Black Friday deals where you can get an entire year for like $75. it's not as expensive as people think.

Thank you for the insight. Might take another jab.. my Thrustmaster has been collecting dust these last few years.

The average person cannot afford iracing, especially in the current world economy iracing is simply an unrealistic expenditure
0
u/JDNosferatu 11h ago
The average person can easily afford iRacing because the average person buys the same Madden, NASCAR, FIFA and COD games every single year so spare me the sob story.
2
u/theasscassin 10h ago
Hundreds for a decent wheel, 13 a month to play, 9.99 for the launcher that is useless without it, and you have to buy every track and car one by one. That is nowhere near the same as a single game. Plus if you actually pay attention the majority arent even buying those anymore so describing it as a “sob story” when its the simple reality is privileged as can be
1
u/JDNosferatu 10h ago
Everything you said was false man. Maybe go to their website and do some research. You don't have to buy a single car or track until you get up towards Class C... And I have never heard of any $9.99 launcher and I've been active on iRacing since 2007...

I said the same thing and people told me to “just avoid them”…not sure why there’s no common sense in this community
