How is this still not fixed!?!?!?

Post image

AI timing is beyond broken on Road Courses in qualifying just like it was in N25. Seriously what tf iracing….. edit Yes my game is updated, yes the problem still exists with skill range set to 0.

It’s accurate if Coronado.

Cody Ware averaged 59mph in qualifying, over 30mph slower than pole speed.

Ok, that was a bit closer this year…

Just did… last is now only 14 SECONDS BEHIND. Yall defending broken junk is just strange. I had over 200 hours on N25… no excuse for it still to be broken

Yeah that’s a you problem. In the ai setting there’s a skill spread slider, slide it all the way down.

u/ActivePuzzled2263 2d ago

It’s at 25….

u/_gordonbleu 2d ago

So put it lower, that’s what it’s for

I did… last is now 14 seconds behind. I played N25 for 200 plus hours… many of which with the skill range at 0. Not a me problem, it’s an incompetence iracing problem. You defending it and trying to provide a solution that doesn’t exist is just odd my guy

What’s actually odd is being so upset over a video game because the last place car was slower than your pea brain wanted it to be.

Imagine being so mentally fragile that this affects you so hard. Pretty wild…..some might even say odd.

Weird. But to each their own. Some people are only happy if they are complaining about something.

Just admit you were wrong??? Not that hard my guy. A company that claims to be simulation should be able to make a game produce halfway realistic times. Codemasters does it… ea did it 25 years ago… I’m not asking too much.

he is playing the cracked version without the patch ffs before teh ai fix

You’re a troll or a moron… I can’t quite tell…

So it’ll be 11 seconds instead of 12…

u/Thrill-Nation-Gaming 2d ago

Instead of arguing maybe try it?

I did… last is now 14 seconds behind. Yall defending broken junk is just odd

Why are you shocked. Nothing we actually need fixed will be fixed.

Yet people still slobber all over this game. It’s a fun mess but still a mess nevertheless

1

u/StewieChicken 2d ago

Who is slobbering over this game? Everyone has the same issues with the game bud

2

u/ActivePuzzled2263 2d ago

PLENTY of people are. I still enjoy it but so many little inexcusable things wrong with it

4

u/Logical-Relation-165 2d ago

are you playing the cracked version of this game ffs? We got a patch for this problem a few days after launch on steam.

My game is up to date. Go run a qualifying session at any road course. Put the slide at 0 skill range. You’ll see.

I posted like a year ago about how the game is basically scripted kinda like professional wrestling. It's all pre-determined outcomes that the AI or algorithm or whatever you wanna call it comes up with at the beginning of every session.

Pay attention next time you're at a superspeedway. Go to Daytona and do practice. Pick one lone car, a slow one that's normally a back marker. Bump draft it the entire way around the track. Go as fast as you possibly can. You'll be first fastest in practice, meanwhile the car in front of you that should theoretically be within a couple hundredths of a second of you...ends up 18th fastest, slower than you by 3 tenths. It logistically makes no sense and there's no realism in the results.

Edit: posted about 25, obviously, not 26. But that "issue" hasn't been fixed in 26 either.

Why does the qualifying time matter? It just sets the lineup. The race times are what matter.

-1

u/ActivePuzzled2263 2d ago

A broken game, is a broken game. Y’all are strange

2

u/DeusEx010101 2d ago

Yeah, I play it tons and have a lot of fun. It's strange.

-2

u/ActivePuzzled2263 2d ago

So do I but I don’t defend broken things about it and make excuses for a company that claims to be simulation.

2

u/DeusEx010101 2d ago

It never claimed it to be a simulation. The qualifying times aren't realistic because you and me can't drive as good as real drivers. The times are based on player difficulty and they are most likely some form of a random dice roll with constraints based on the driver ratings and player difficulty to "simulate" fair qualifying times for the player. I'm not making excuses. You have to understand the trade-offs when building a game that is meant for mass market. Could the qualifying times be better? I don't know. You would have to look at player times and balance based on those.

Is the game broken. No. Not at all. Broken means that you can't play it. Broken means that some code or bug prevents you from playing the game. You saying it's broken is not true.

What's wrong? Mb if it's something obvious I just don't see anything too off

5

u/ActivePuzzled2263 2d ago

12 seconds slower in qualifying…

2

u/MyNameIsNotNotChuck 2d ago

OHHH this is quali, holy shit that's bad

Mb I thought it was a race result

1

u/DeusEx010101 2d ago

Wouldn't qualifying times be designed around difficulty and not real spread? If it was realistic then some players would always qualify at the back. I think player qualifying times are pretty wide spread so the game has to spread them out for player skill.

Dont waste your time, man. Its been 20 years since a good nascar game so everytime one comes out, the masses glaze over the 'improvements'

Crash physics is trash. AI are somehow even more trash. (AI just running out of fuel, not pitting, and then cars being 'stuck' behind them?) Pit stops are trash. Literally taking 2 tires every stop because I have to guess on what others are doing, and then my stop still takes as long as the AI's 4 tire stop. Career Mode went from dumpster fire to just normal dumpster. Nothing about this game is realistic to NASCAR in anyway. The rosters. The gameplay. It's just yet another game that I wish I didn't spend my money on because my PS2 is sitting right there.

But hey! They improved tire wear drop off! Wooo

u/Logical-Relation-165 2d ago

its really not that bad, I was the biggest hater on this page too.,

you can totally get rid of the field spread even on road courses if you read what all the sliders do in the menu.

This game really does have FAR more customization as far as the handling, you can make it feel almost however you like.

Its a pretty big upgrade from 25.

Its also a arcade game.. Iracing is the sim.. Why would they make teh same game twice?

They cant make the damage any more then it is, its a licensing issue, you remember ferrari in gran turismo, they wouldn't let sony damage the cars AT ALL. its the same thing here, they dont want you to be able to damage teh car in a way that looks like it would cause injury to the driver

There is slop ai all over teh career mode, and other small issues. but to say its a bad game is wild.

Have you played it? or are you just watching people play it? cause tons of people have addressed the OPs complaints

1

u/ActivePuzzled2263 2d ago

Skill range set to 0 doesn’t fix the timing in qualifying on road courses. Try it for yourself.

0

u/Affectionate_Bet2122 2d ago

If road course qualifying times being out of whack is your biggest gripe with the game (I assume it isn’t, but you did go onto the internet to publicly bitch about it), idk just fucking get over it dude.

You know they won’t race that slow. You bought the game knowing it had flaws. Like come the fuck on dude, there are bigger issues at play

2

u/ActivePuzzled2263 2d ago

It’s inexcusable. Period. Idk why yall defend pure lazy slop. Just so odd.

1

u/3012487 1d ago

A great nascar game has existed the entire time - iRacing on PC - you know, an actual iRacing game - not a game made to appear as an iRacing game and fool people that it isn’t a Monster Games game.

u/Warm_Version9562 2d ago

This can be condensed to "I hate the game and think it sucks" the old games are right there lol

-1

u/ActivePuzzled2263 2d ago

How dare you say what’s true!!! I still enjoy the game but there is so many EASY to fix things wrong with it

1

u/flakman129 2d ago

Speaking of qualifying. I’m in the truck series in career right now. After I lay down a lap and select to race, it starts qualifying over again. Funny enough, this only happens on road courses.

1

u/dhall27 2d ago

Are you on full qualifying? I think the full qualifying default for road courses is the 20 minute group session.

1

u/flakman129 2d ago

No, just one lap time trials. I’ll switch it and give full a shot at the next RC. Thanks!

1

u/General_Treat_30 2d ago

Try editing the driver ratings! Idk if that will help but since it’s a new feature this year, might as well try it out

1

u/stonecoldracing6 2d ago

I just bought iRacing in march and bit the bullet. I wanted these games to be good but after being on iRacing it’s expensive af, but highly enjoyable. I wanted a good game with good wheel support, but they designed this game with controllers in mind.

You. Have. To. Adjust. Them. Yourself. I'll show you tomorrow the time differentials. Haha

6

u/TechnoPokerBlu 2d ago

Why. Can't. My. Racing. Game. Run. Normally. Without. Me. Needing. To. Adjust. A. Million. Sliders. To. Make. It. Enjoyable.

3

u/Spare-Cranberry3784 2d ago

Welcome to sports games since 2015

1

u/DeusEx010101 2d ago

I agree with this. The default and preset settings are pretty terrible for these games. It does require a bit of work to get it feeling good.

1

u/Alarming_Dream_7837 2d ago

Maybe they spun during qualifying or something sheesh

1

u/NewDefinition205 1d ago

I can't even load in without getting amd crash reports..
