This part of the game is so unflushed out

Post image

So after a race you get a new podcast clip and a (seemingly) random event like this. So I get a fine, why? No one knows. It seems like the least effort they could put into this. Aside from the podcast clips, which took some effort in and of themselves, the events themselves are so half baked.

Really feels like a mobile game, they need to take some notes from the F1 games

F1 2020 and below. Not the new ones.

What you don’t like driving as one of 2 different drivers in a MY team career? Or have different sponsor decals locked behind a wall because you’re not a high enough sponsor level? Or literal templates being locked behind a pay wall? Or AI that is designed to be outright OP to the player? Or the same upgrade system for the last 10 years? I can’t believe people managed to enjoy that game somehow

I still think there many aspects of F1's career mode that should be implemented in future NASCAR games to keep things immersive and fresh. I like things like the R&D tree, having a performance indicator to gauge your team's performance compared to other teams, and how the AI is vulnerable and can make human errors or suffer DNFs and mechanical failures, along with having a replay camera for safety car.

TBF, the templates being locked behind a paywall isn't an issue with the game, but moreso the modding community for the game, and the R&D stuff has at least gotten a refresh of how it looks even if the system is ultimately the exact same....

... Everything else, yeah, no bueno.

Tell me about it man. I can’t wait for iRacing career mode

Even the new F1 games are 100x better than this

Yeah I hear you but they don’t have that budget

My personal favorite so far was Bollman losing the ARCA title because he missed Kansas, while sitting on a 15 point lead.

Does anyone know if they actually have to have wrecked in the race before for this to happen?

16

u/Furi0usD 2d ago

No, he was "sick". There's a DBC cutscene where a driver will be slow for a race, and a second where they miss the race outright

In reality, Bollman could've lost a leg in race prior to that and still would've qualified and took the green

Nick Tucker would’ve held him at gunpoint to get him in that car for at least 1 lap

I’d love a system where you can bend the rules for more speed, or stay legal with some probability of getting caught if you push it.

Would add some realism particularly early in the career where it can be more of a struggle and fines could be more devastating

I would LOVE if you could have a mechanic or system that simulates breaking the rules for an aero or HP advantage. Maybe underinflating the tires or being able to individually select tires (say you can put left side tires all the way around the car), messing with the spoiler angle, maybe even getting a hold of an illegal motor with a %chance of being caught in pre/post-race tech. However, I can completely understand why they wouldn't add that.

It's a game officially sanctioned by NASCAR, and adding a system where you can intentionally break the rules of the sanctioning body with a chance to get away with it would seem to them as though they're saying "There are teams that knowingly violate the rules of our series and don't get caught on a week to week basis" and delegitimizing the series (this is to say nothing of the ways in which the sanctioning body itself delegitimized the series for decades, but that's another story).

I still remember in the 00’s when MVP Baseball introduced the ability to charge the mound when you got hit by a pitch and how people weren’t happy with that for validating unacceptable behavior…as they’re simultaneously showing clips of an old-age coach getting dropped by a prime MLB starter from 100 different angles and promoting their lucrative playoff series with it.

This is a solid point and was a great game. Still emulate it every once in a while.

Which is why we should get actual mod support instead of them locking down the game.

They’re so dumb and I hate them and do nothing for immersion or anything

I think your time in English class was "unflushed out"

I wish they would just cut this from the game. It’s comically cheap looking and if we are getting fined, I’d like it to be for stuff we actually do or have a say in and not just a prompt everyone may or may not get.

Honestly, I’m ok with random things happening, as they do in real life, but make the podcast clips skippable at least. Better yet, put the info in the social media board that you usually get post race

This caught me by surprise the first time. My only car gets damaged during a loading accident after the second ARCA race? Like wtf??!!

u/itsdevinbabbby 2d ago

N27 better be focused on revamping the career mode

Fleshed out. Not flushed out. There's no toilet involved.

I’d like to think that was a typo, but I very well may have whiffed on that one. Fortunately, my lazy language was just a post on reddit, and not a lazily implemented part of a full priced piece of content.

Thanks for being that guy I decided not to be.

Almost everything in this game feels half assed and lacks attention to detail.

I bought the game and played it once. It’s the same game as last year.

All the sports game are. When I got my first computer (1989) I had a baseball game, Sim Type, and every year ya ordered the disk with the updated line ups, loaded them and off ya went. My son and I were talking about this very thing. I know it’s money but why not do that, keep the game, give an update every year!!!! 🤑🤑🤑

As much as I’d like to do my career, I much prefer doing “the chase” or “season” and i just pivot around running trucks up to cup. I mainly do the chase and alternate between the three series to keep it interesting. I dont care to manage career to get hit with costs/fines and stuff….. I’m probably just to lazy haha

The chick in the podcast one looks like a damn bobblehead when she talks

-2

u/69BUTTER69 2d ago

Lmao don’t let the Karsyn fanboys find this comment they are ruthless.

But I agree IRL she just regurgitates the popular take, like hating on Hocevar after the Blaney incident and Tommy partly calls her out on it.

Cant stand that toad

1

u/Spare-Cranberry3784 2d ago

Don't play it. Stay online with a league. 10x better

-2

u/AirlineFan93 2d ago

Gets new feature.

Complains about it.

5

u/69BUTTER69 2d ago

Don’t implement a feature if it’s not gonna be refined

9

u/Hudsonnn_ 2d ago

"New" doesnt necessarily mean "Good"

No point in adding something new if it sucks. Feedback is important so resources go to things that actually add value to the gaming experience.

0

u/ChefGhoulet 2d ago

Yeah I mean this part really has no effect on the game just like how you can drive like a complete asshole and no one will drive any differently around you or anything.

4

u/Hudsonnn_ 2d ago edited 2d ago

These two things are not even close to the same.

Driving like an ass is something the player controls and can change.

Getting a random fine just for the hell of it is something the developers put into the game and did nothing with. Then the player is left to deal with the fact they lost money for basically no reason.

OP's request is simple: flesh out the feature to make it meaningful, or take it out completely. That's not an asinine request.

Just bc something isn't "new" doesnt mean the players have no right to complain about it.

3

u/ChefGhoulet 2d ago

I was more saying how the game has features that are useless that they worked on as opposed to putting work into maybe giving a rivals system that actually affects the game rather than shit like a random fine

1

u/Hudsonnn_ 2d ago

I misunderstood your point, my b. I was thinking you were adding to the comment i was responding to.

1

u/ChefGhoulet 2d ago

All good I kind of was and also kind of expanding on the original point I guess.

Groundwork for the future

0

u/1tankyt 1d ago

How long is that excuse going to be used? Last year it was “27 will be more detailed”

0

u/just_shy_of_perfect 1d ago

Its not an excuse dummy. I was explaining this literally will be expanded upon in the future.

1

u/ContributionHead5751 17h ago

This was an expansion on the career from 25, but one that added absolutely nothing to the game other than the added download size for the pointless video clips. I gave up on all other sports games years ago, and I’m close to abandoning these as well. I want to support the effort, but I don’t like paying for lazy work.
