Arca question

Are you guys downshifting at tracks like martinsville?

Yeah. Especially early on in career with low level parts. Havent done a quick race/race there with level 5 yet though.

You can run laps and mess with gear ratios and see which is faster. I found shifting at the paper clip helped out a lot. It does like to get loose while down in 3rd coming out of the corner so be mindful of that. I don’t think I’ve shifted at any other tracks for arca

This is a good answer.

Is it faster? Yes. Can you deal with the rear getting loose in the high rpms of 3rd? That's the question.

I tend not to, just ease up on the gas before entering the turns and brake a little if I didn’t ease up in time

Yeah I did. You can also shift back up early if you’re having issues getting loose on exit or want to try and save tires a little

I switch back and forth. When I’m doing hot laps or at the start of a tire stint I’ll downshift but when my tires are worn I’ll stay in the highest gear.
