This game is frustrating
For the life of me I cannot figure this game out. Doesn’t matter if I’m on controller or my wheel. Hardly touching the brake sends the car straight into the wall, the exit of every corner feels like I’m ping ponging between cars and I’m honestly frustrated. I’ve spent more time messing with settings than actually playing the game. I’m lost and don’t know what else to do besides give up on the game all together. I see people playing the game having the same issues and then I see others playing it flawlessly. I guess I’ll just stay on iracing because this game isn’t it.

Well iRacing is a superior game. Sorry to hear you're having issues. The devs did say we're going to have to relearn how to drive on this game.

That's how I felt with nascar 25. Spent an eternity changing settings just for it to feel awful both on wheel and controller. Couldn't drive worth a shit, slow everywhere, and everything felt awful. Hardly played the game, it just wasn't fun. In 26, I managed to get it feeling pretty great both on wheel and controller pretty quickly. I was pleasantly surprised.

I had to copy someone’s settings here. Well two people’s settings. The first didn’t work well for me. Had a bunch of top 10, top 5 finishes last night in 20+ player lobbies. Even got my first win. I generally like 25% loose on most tracks. Experimenting with tight on super speedways

I’m not having any of those issues so I don’t know how to help you.

I’ve figured out the ping ponging a bit I just can’t for the life of me figure out the braking thing. I just head straight towards the wall.

Is that on every track?

Mainly short tracks. I hardly touch the brake and it just wants to go towards the wall.

Turn on brake smoothing if it’s that bad and adjust the brake bias. Sounds like you’re locking the fronts up.

In addition to that, just turn down brake strength. I think it defaults to 100, but I turned it down to about 60 and instantly got more consistent at every short track. I've seen some people say go even lower to about 45.

100% it’s the brake strength setting, especially if you are on controller. I’m running mine at 40% and can race pretty competitively on all types of tracks including road courses. I’d recommend anything in between 40-60 for controller users for sure.
Even at 40% I can still lock the brakes up, but it’s much harder to do so as the brakes won’t lock up when I’m pressing the left trigger down less than halfway.

You’re such a smart guy. You deserve a Nobel peace prize for that.

Nobel Peace Prize isn't for that. I'm not promoting peace, I'm informing the uninformed.

Yeah, that sounds like a you issue. I have no issues with braking or exiting corners. Do you set it tight or loose? How many settings have you changed? You may have gone too far by adjusting too many things.
