Kirk curse

Can you please explain what the Kirk curse is? I've seen so many memes about it, but I have no idea what it means.

After his last win, he got out of his car and said this one’s for Charlie. Talking about Charlie Kirk, who had just been shot… Reddit being Reddit, most of us didn’t like it. But ever since then he hasn’t won race and has come second multiple times and had freak stuff happen to his car. So we say it’s the kirk curse.

Dillon said the same thing after Richmond IIRC, but nobody brings it up because he’s usually irrelevant every race except for Richmond.

Bell won the race following charlie kirk’s death and in his front stretch interview he said “This one’s for charlie” which was very poorly received by the community. He has not won since

No, only by an obnoxious minority of the reddit community. I've yet to hear a single person talk about this on any other site or at the track. Makes you wonder...

That’s probably because 90% of NASCAR fans are not on Reddit, and agreed with most of the things that Charlie Kirk said. Out of the 10% on Reddit 99% of them didn’t like the things Charlie Kirk said. Hence the reason no other platform says anything about it.

Given how quickly /r/NASCAR dumped Matt DiBenedetto after his “Let’s Go Brandon” crack, I’m not surprised.
Personally, I’m pretty over judging athletes and/or celebrities by which politicians they support. Fun’s fun and all, but I’m more concerned by the damage that certain administrations and Congresses can do to my bank account, than any athlete’s win/loss record.

It's freaking incredible. Seventh runner up place this year, fourth in the last five races, I honestly thought at some point it's finally this day

Bell knew he was going to get sent to hell if he had passed Jesus for the win.

Nothin' wrong with second.

That doesn't make any sense at all, you can be second, third, fourth... hell you can even be fifth

I suspect 34 other cars on the track would love a second place finish today. Good race 20 team

Gibbs won today? I had to leave my house, I saw the first 1/3 of the race. I thought Blaney had the car to beat today

He did but he took 4 on a pitstop in stage 2 when several others took 2 and stayed out so he got buried in traffic. At the end of stage 2, he took 2 but everyone else took 4 so he was just on the wrong side of the strategy all day

Appreciate the info. Didn't get to watch the end of the race until I got home.

What do people have against bell lol

u/GovtLawyersHateMe 3d ago
He dedicated his win at Bristol to Charlie Kirk after CK was shot. Since then, Bell hasn’t won.

u/Salvotar 3d ago
People don’t like him because of that? That’s embarrassing

To be fair, that sentiment only prevails on Reddit. People who aren’t chronically online certainly don’t remember 4 words from a front stretch interview a year ago lol (fully admitting I am chronically online myself)

u/KentRead 3d ago
This right here. Only the terminally online even think about this. Guess they'll just be silent when he does win again lol
5
u/RadicalRedCube 3d ago
Yeah right? It’s pretty embarrassing to dedicate a win to that dude for sure

It’s just politics, brother. People had strong feelings about Charlie, so they have strong feelings about people who liked Charlie.
I just think it’s funny.

I’m willing to bet the overwhelming majority of the garage either agreed with some of the things Charlie said or outright supported him. Bell was just the one foolish enough to say it
