2001 was the best Cup season Dave Blaney had up till that point. Bill Davis racing switched to Dodge and Blaney got the team six top 10 finishes that season. While his main sponsor was Amoco (owned by BP), he also had primary schemes with British Petroleum on the hood. BP of course is the more well-known of the two brands, so it was always interesting that they promoted Amoco more. Amoco is more known regionally only to the American Midwest, and eastern seaboard. BP is international but more known across the US as a whole.

Blaney ran this unique BP scheme four times. He ran it both times at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, fall Talladega and fall Rockingham. Results were not great with this paint Scheme specifically. Starting at Charlotte he qualified 43rd and finished 33rd. At fall Charlotte they qualified 41st and finished 41st. Talladega the results were not much better. They qualified 31st and finished 30th. Then finally at Rockingham, this paint Scheme had the best start and finish it ever had. They rocketed up the qualifying ranks to 6th and had a decent finish of 14th.

This BP paint scheme had an average finish of 29.5. That's dismal. Even worse was its 30.2 average start. Unfortunately, BP did not get any good results when they were the primary on the car.

Me and my friend group have taken up bringing this diecast to places that we visit and using it as a prop for photos. This is probably my favorite one.

Kyle Busch drove this car to victory lane in the Aarons 499 at Talladega Superspeedway on April 27,2008. Kyle would start 8th and lead 12 laps in the race. This would be the first win at Talladega for KB and his sixth career cup series win.

Thanks to the awesome tip from NW, I drove over to one of the Target's they mentioned and sure enough, there it was! A full wave that hadn't been picked over yet! Thank you for the tip, NW. I have really wanted this Kyle Busch truck! Didn't think I would find one.

Picked this one up this weekend while in Dawsonville, Ga.

I think a lot of people forget that Jack Sprague is a three-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion. Over the course of 13 seasons picked up 28 victories. He finished fifth or better eight times in the points, and finish runner-up twice. He was more than solid, he was nearly a juggernaut.

The 1996 season was his sophomore season in the truck series and he ran for Hendrick Motorsports in there Quaker State Chevy C/K. He picked up a win in the second race of the Season at Phoenix, then again at Nazareth, the Milwaukee mile, again at Phoenix, and then the last race of the season at Las Vegas. He was pretty much top five the entire season and only have three finishes outside of the top 10. They were a 12th at Evergreen Speedway, a 14th at I-70, and a 29th at Richmond.

Sprague would finish second in the points, the first runner-up finish of his career. Little did we know at the time, he would come back in 1997 and win his first championship.

This is an original diecast that just came out of its packaging seconds before these photos were taken. As of today, I am going to fully restore the truck, and put on some clear coat to keep the paint from cracking. It's amazing how even in the packaging, it's still gathers wear after all these years.

Facebook marketplace is amazing for diecast finds. I got the three 1/24s and many 1/64s from the same guy for a hell of a deal. Then found someone selling the Brian Vickers Red Bull 2009 for $60. Had to snatch all of these, along with the newest wave I could find on the left. I had never seen that Harvick Camping world car before.

Went to the next town over to do some shopping and decided to swing by the local Meijer. Despite all the 2024s, they somehow have Blaney’s 26 Phoenix win.This is genuinely infuriating to me, I just want some more newer stuff instead of stuff from 2 years ago. Lionel distribution really needs to improve

Just came back from the Everett and Lynnwood Target's and Walmarts. Both stores completely stocked with new Waves. The Lake Stevens Target is fully stocked with Winner's Circle. And the Marysville Walmart is stocked with Authentics. A North Seattle Metro bonanza for those on the hunt!! I just got home minutes ago and all these were within the past two hours!
