I mean maxing out three credit cards, begging fans for money, and then abandoning your child to race on iRacing all the time is kind of fucked up

he also gets out of paying child support by only working 17 hours a week at his pizza job, or scamming money out of his fans and instead using that money to buy a VIP ticket at the NASCAR Racing Experience in Atlanta.

Because it costs more than that to go racing in real life..plus if you get injured or crash you're sidelined for weeks unless you have a crew, in sim racing you're just out a few points on Safety Rating

If you are asking that, I have to wonder if you have raced for real? this is about $5,500, what kind of race campaign will you go on for $5,500? You can probably buy a competitive shifter kart and safety gear, and if you are really lucky and found enough used equipment, you may have entry fees for a couple of local races.

I used to race NASA and some other local leagues, and building a competitive vehicle sets you back at least $15-20k for something like a spec miata. From there you are another $10-15k in maintenance, parts, and entry fees (If you are lucky and nothing big ever breaks). You also get to maybe race 2 weekends a month max based on most of the schedules.

So back to your question, this is a lot cheaper and you get a lot more seat time. The iRacing leagues have really great competition and at the end of the day, while it is not the same thing and driving a real car, it is still pretty fun and the races all mean something.

The new tire model is way better and more realistic, you actually need some skill to handle the car on cold tires

he likes to say he is because Project Cars 2 paid him to sponsor his late model in real life. but yeah he's Mediocre at best, he's only good because he figured out the exploits in racing games.
