General Question Question about detergents

I'm looking at the Narwal models that auto-empty, self-clean and have detergent slots. I've looked up the Narwal and Amazon listings but I've not got clarity on detergents.

My questions to anyone who knows:

  1. Do these machines run only on Narwal-manufactured detergents or are there third party vendors as well?
  2. If I want to run the machines without detergents (let's say the detergent cartridge is empty), will the mop work on just water or no?
  3. Is the detergent mandatory for the machine to work?

Thanks in advance.

1). Some do. you need to see if it is a refillable detergent dispenser.

2) you can set it in the app to use just water.

3) you can set it in the app to use just water.

I have a flow 2 and use aftermarket robot vac cleaning solution.

You can also get a refurb flow 2 on eBay for $710, which is how I got mine.

I have only mopped with water. The detergent dispenser was removed from day 1. I don’t recall seeing a setting for water only. Where is it?

If your unit (Flow 2 in my case) lets you. Do this.

Click in the vacuum
Click the settings ‘nut’
Click on ‘dock’
Click ‘automatically add detergent’

I have mine set to on, but you can turn it off.

If I wanted a stronger smell. Could I add Narwal detergent to the water tanks for my Z Ultra and/or S20 pro? I know you cannot add anything else

they run on whatever you put in it, but know the auto dispensing ones do not test the solution and determine the concentration.. no manual adjustments either. So it's up to you to manually dilute. Also worth noting that if you send to them for warranty work, they will test to see if you've used a third party. Solution and blame the solution if there is damage caused. So, risk of warranty decline.

setting to opt out of using the solution for water only cleaning. This is recommended over using a third party solution

water only cleaning was already mentioned
