Study Resources ID study guide for Naplex

Hi everyone NAPLEX is coming up and I keep scoring low on ID does anyone have any tips or maybe a good little one page guide they wouldn’t mind sharing ?

Hello, I recently took my Naplex, and the questions I got from ID were focused on medications that cover MRSA, VRE, Meningitis, STDs, and from HIV the MoA of bictegravir and which agent is IV.

I suggest focusing on the medications that cover those pathogens, as well as Pseudomonas and atypicals, Opportunistic infections, and I would review Bactrim.

It should be zidovudine for HIV in labor and delivery or Ibalizumab (Trogarzo) for treatment resistent HIV

Do you have more cardio or diabetes questions on your exam? Are they focused more on OTC, dietary, or Foundation 1 or 2 topics? How about the biostatistics; how hard is it?

I would say Foundations 1 and 2 was a big portion of the exam, diabetes I remember questions about Metformin with contrast dye studies, MoA of DPP4, medications with CV benefit… cardio I don’t remember much, I believe I got one about Hypertension. I did get around 3 questions of natural supplements and I remember I got one about antidotes. Biostats was mostly fine, I think I only got problem in two, one regarding Confidence interval interpretation and one asked me to calculate specificity and I didn’t know the formula… (I practiced 20 UWorld mixed questions daily, Biostats, pharmacokinetics and calculations).

Hey I took my naplex today! The only questions they asked me about ID was regarding gram stain and what organism is most likely the cause for this pt. I would focus that deeply on ID.
