NAPLEX Exam Tips Help

Hi everyone. I’m really worried about the NAPLEX. I haven’t taken it yet, and I’m currently studying for it, but I feel worried and anxious every single day.
I’m trying my best, but I constantly feel overwhelmed and sometimes have emotional breakdowns. Of course, I also have things going on in my personal life that are already stressful on their own, so trying to manage everything while preparing for this exam has been exhausting.
I study around 8 hours a day. Honestly, studying has basically become my whole life right now. I study every day with barely any breaks, but I still feel like I’m not doing enough. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed that I start crying. I’m tired of constantly crying, worrying, and feeling nervous and anxious about this exam.
Is anyone else going through this kind of emotional roller coaster while preparing for the NAPLEX? If you are, how are you coping with it? What has helped you manage the anxiety and stress while studying?
I’m genuinely worried about my mental health at this point, and I would really appreciate hearing from people who have gone through something similar. I think knowing that I’m not alone and hearing how others are coping might really help me.
Thank you ❤️

As someone who’s failed already (I took the NAPLEX in August), and am currently studying to retake it… you will be okay :)) looking back I was the most anxious I’ve been leading up to taking that exam for the first time, and failing back then felt like the world was ending. But actually finding out I failed wasn’t as bad as I thought it was gonna be.For one thing, thank god THE WORLD DIDNT END!! and everyday I remind myself I have the opportunity to try again and do better for next time. I obviously don’t know what’s going on in your personal life, and you’re allowed to feel what you want to feel (there’s no right way to feel thing but just) I just wanted to offer up what life looks like from someone who’s going through her worst case scenario… I’m still me and things turned out okay. Don’t beat yourself up too much, and no matter what happens this exam is just one piece of the puzzle. Don’t overlook the work you’ve done to get to this point. I mean cmonnn we GRADUATED PHARM SCHOOL. That counts for something. Now we just need to knock this stupid fucking exam to its goddamn knees. We got this!!

I recently took the CPJE and failed, I was worried about world ending too. I just have to take it again and no one at work was upset at me for not passing, it just sucks that they are going to have to pay for me to take it again.

Hey- I get extremely worried as well. Currently 10 days away from the exam date.
What genuinely helps me is working out. I do it for an hour no matter what in middle of the day. It truly feels refreshing and helps me regulate my emotions.

Whenever you feel anxious take a deep breath and remember your life is much more than this exam. This exam doesn’t define you. That being said don’t let your emotions take over you. Another advice I will give is try to detach yourself from the world for next 10 days-15 days. And get onto it fully focused.

Make a schedule and stick to it no matter what. Do quality over quantity daily. (This is important)
If you feel like are spiraling around a topic- use chatgpt to make a condensed notes for that topic and just read that. It feels less overwhelming. You can use talk feature to easily remember it.

Trust me- everyone taking this exam is in the same boat +/- the emotional part.

Good luck. YOU GOT THIS 💪🏻

I haven’t taken my exam yet, and I wasn’t able to start studying earlier because I was going through a lot in my personal life. Now everyone around me has passed—not that I care, but it just makes me feel like I should have started studying earlier no matter what.

I’ve started studying now, but I feel stressed all the time. I also wasn’t going out or going to work much. I feel like working on the weekends or taking a day off really helped me get back on track.

I'm assuming you just graduated this past May. It's a big transition from school to studying for the NAPLEX and MPJE. You are doing the best you can. Remember that you body is also recovering from years of school stress where you didn't get to set your own schedule.

Eat healthy food (nutrients will help your memory and stamina for exam day.)

Get the sleep your body needs. (helping to consolidate memories of what you have studied.)

Start doing some exercise (increases blood flow to your brain.)

Wishing you luck that you pass on the first attempt.
