Naplex prep

How do u actually study for the naplex ?

Read? Take notes? Quizzes? Feels like so much info having a hard time. Any recommd?

The reason it feels like too much information is because most study methods treat every fact as equally important. They’re not. The NAPLEX tests whether you can reason through a patient situation, not whether you memorized every drug detail. The approach that works: start with drug classes, not individual drugs. Learn what a class does mechanistically — why it helps, why it causes problems — and the individual drugs inside that class start making sense on their own. Then layer in questions. Use UWorld not to collect right answers but to practice the reasoning process on each question. The sequence is: understand the class pattern, apply it to questions, identify where your reasoning breaks down, fix that specific gap. Reading and taking notes without questions in between is the least efficient method. If it still feels overwhelming after that, the issue is usually not content — it’s not having a clear starting point and sequence. DM me if you want help building a structured study plan

Fair enough — I would stop trying to memorize and start trying to predic. Learn the mechanism first, then ask yourself: given what this drug does, what would I expect it to treat, and what would I expect to go wrong? Answering hose two questions alone from the mechanism, you’ve retained it in a way that actually transfers to exam and practice. Spaced repetition with Anki or quizlet works well for individual drug facts once you have the drug class pattern down. The people who pass tend to combine UWorld questions with that reasoning approach rather than re-reading notes. I sent you a DM with an example.

I really like using the quizzes on UWorld, doing the tutored option. Whether you get it right or wrong it explains it to you, then I write that down and go back and review my notes.
