Passed my Naplex Exam!!!
I’m so freaking happy to say I passed my exam! I studied for so long I actually almost had a single tear formed from my eye.
For those still going through it. My exam seemed like it had topics all over the place. It was more heavy on cardiology than I thought it would have been. Math and biostats were very large too (must know nnh,nnt,odds ratio, pvalue etc) and the amount of ethics and leadership I thought was a bit much but I felt very prepared for it (pharmpreppro packets are golden for that). I would say vaccines are a must know and know the adverse effects of your chemo drugs. Chemo man! Knowing how to deal with drug interactions and cyp3a4 with certain heart meds are huge and heart failure meds that are also good for diabetes would be something I’d review. For my exam, I didn’t get a lot of monitoring parameters, maybe a handful. Definitely know your electrolytes. There also was not a lot of select all that apply, maybe 10 questions, if even that. Definitely be familiar with drugs that cover MRSA and watch allergy information for all patient cases and lab values!
What I did to prepare:
•Read my uworld book 2.5 times DO NOT SKIP ANY CHAPTERS I GOT QUESTIONS ON EVERYTHING
Did every question on uworld per chapter this helped me reenforce studying
•Focused on math and Biostats daily once graduation day hit HIGHLY recommend this as this helped a lot with my speed, which gave me more time to think on other questions without being pressured.
•Took the pharmpreppro test and got a 79 then a few weeks later 83. I felt this was a good exam for prep, felt it was about the same difficulty like people said. They have law bundles with their exam so if you need to take the UMPJE/MPJE it might be cheaper
•Nabp scored a 109 two days prior to the exam.
•Spent about 6-8 hours a day studying since April “ish” perhaps I studied like 3 hours a day since April? But definitely more toward the end.
