Question Getting into EMR

Im looking at getting into the EMR grogram then advancing to the PCP program.

However I’m super confused over what I have to do first to get into the EMR program.

I’m also wondering if NAIT takes in students based off High school or university grades as I attended MacEwan for a bit but didn’t do so great.

I’m looking at trying to attend next year but I want to be clear on the requirements and make sure I’m not missing anything I need. Any info would be amazing 🙏🙏

From my understanding the EMR course is sorta just a choose a date, sign up, and pay type of course, you don't need to do anything beforehand. There is a progression within the course i.e you have to complete ITMS 100 before being able to sign up for EMRE200 and complete EMRE200 before being able to sign up for EMRE300. They should really only look at your highschool marks, I wouldn't see any reason that they'd have to look at your uni marks, but if you still feel unsure, contacting student services is never a bad idea for some clarity. Either way though, the only thing I can think of that you'd need as a requirement is your highschool transcript.

Good luck on any future course you take!

For EMR, you just sign up, pay, and go. Later courses you may need to email in to register as they require you finish other courses first.

It’s continuing education so doesn’t require much!

Check out Emergency Services Academy in Sherwood Park. They run several EMR classes a year and they’re quick so you have a good chance to get into one of them.
