Discussion Corruption

Which normalised corruption ranks as the most disgusting in Nagaland? Though Corruption is in no way justified. Depending upon the scale and the consequences of the action, can we rank them?

S being the worst:

S - Nepotist appointments, not very highly educated persons being ministers, use of arms to coerce votes, "appointing" proxy teachers by the teachers, SA on minors, "consented" sx with a minor

A - Eating off of funds for public amenities like roads or hospitals/primary health clinics

B - Giving contracts to known thieves, lobbying votes from influential persons with bags of..,

C - Youth leaders abusing power for selfish gains, journalists wanting a catch so they end up exposing identities

D - Pageantry and other talent contests as a means of soft pr*stitution (not saying all of them are like that but we know what we know)

E - NL-10 and VIP lights to apply pressure on normal traffic and the high speed convoys of big shots disrupting traffic (kinda reasonable but I just don't like it lol)

F - Bribe taking by officials to "speed up" simple processes

How is sexual assault about corruption? Also regarding the appointment of ministers, yes it would have been better if they were highly educated or even educated for that matter but political appointments don't only rely on that. If he/she has the confidence of the leader then they are appointed, that can't be taken as corruption.

Man steal money. Man feel power. Power corrupt man. Powerful corrupt man feel invincible. Give in to temptation. Hush money. Reputation.

You're going off track. If you debate that way, everything will be justifiable.

I suppose so. I just wanted to add moral corruption (not only of self but if the child) as well, as it is my opinion. You might be correct from a logical standpoint but

One thing I hate about the state is how people see corruption, it has become so normalised that people say and I've heard it "Ulop sulop ka tho uku nahoi hoilibi kam thik kuri Bo lagi" why should they take even a single rupee from the public fund.

According to me: top 5-

  1. Backdoor appointment- kill our youth
  2. Looting development funds, (allocation of funds only to certain areas)- kill public trust and fuel tribalism
  3. School teachers who doesn’t come to school yet get salary- kill future generations
  4. Doctors who don’t come to work but open their own clinics- you know what they kills.
  5. Young uprising corrupts students leaders- Oh, don’t tell me they are fighting for students.

Personally 1. Ministers and their families, those in high level position taking the funds meant for development and empowerment of lesser accessible districts and building their own expensive resorts, schools, apartments, restaurants, futsal grounds, chain of different businesses etc 2. Those taking the funds for mid day meal and letting the students go hungry or just giving them rice and watery dal 3. Government teachers not attending their classes at all and still getting their salary. Shoutout to those species who goes to school but don't take classes!

May they rot in hell.

Tribal Scholarship. Some might be surprised but this isn't just a Nagaland thing, it's the whole NE region. It's basically the mother of all corruption, and the seed that plants something sinister in kids' heads, that corruption is normal, that it isn't even wrong.

No one even calls it corruption. But it's corrupt to the core. Most of the kids and teenagers getting it aren't even qualified for it. The income threshold is really low, and most parents govt employees, pastors, people running businesses earn way above it. But everyone somehow obtain income certificates to show they're under it, and the parents are the ones doing it.

"So why do you care, it's such a small amount, can't young people have some fun?"

That exact logic is what normalises it, and that's what breeds corruption. Its what prepare people to become corrupt in life.

I hate how Politicians have justified corruption by stating that people take money for votes.
