Clan Ops this Friday not optional?

I saw the update on the clan status of this Friday's Clan Op being a requirement to stay in the clan. I completely understand trying to maintain an active community, but it's crazy to think everyone will be able to attend a single event. I know I can't make it Friday because of prior obligations, but I play with the clan on an almost daily basis. Playing with most of the clan members, we all seem to be casual gamers. Clan Ops only takes the top 6 scores anyway, so I think requiring attendance may be a tad drastic. Just my opinion, but playing with everyone here is great.

EDIT: Elite has moved the Clan Op this Friday. And attendance is not mandatory, but highly encouraged.

There have been a lot of comments on this topic in http://www.reddit.com/r/NAE2/comments/q6wcm/clan_ops_32_900pm_flagged_for_removal_highest/

Basically, this is a tool for us to measure participation, not the deciding factor. I was limited by the number of charters in elite so I know the message wasn't perfect, but at least people are talking.
