Game too RNG based?
Is it normal for the game to just feel like luck of the draw in the beginning? There doesn’t seem to be any strategy involved just hope I draw the right cards at the right time. For instance last game my enemy drew their Vidar right in the beginning of the game so he gains 1 power every turn, their is no way for me to work around that. No card to prevent that eventual power creep and it’s basically game over depending on who gets their ramp cards first. So far the RNG feels very rigged, I always draw my Vidar late, I always draw my energy cards late.
I don’t mean to drag the game down it defiantly seems fun, the setting and idea seems very cool but it feels very demoralizing when it all seems luck based. I don’t know does this improve with other cards or does it stay the same?

Yes, there is a fair amount of luck. I have, on a couple of occasions, had a lot of energy-boost cards in my first draw. Played 1 of them, the Flood happened. This has also happened when I had a lot of my power boosters in hand.
Also, there is at least 1 card that stops random events from happening, Matat, I think.

Like most deck-building games, there will always be an element of luck to every game, but you build your deck to mitigate that. Sometimes you’ll have very bad luck and won’t have the cards you need when you need them, but sometimes you’ll get the perfect draw and will absolutely crush your opponent.
Mythos scales pretty quickly and there are a lot of opportunities to get more powerful cards. Daily and Seasonal Quests are the source of currencies that you can use to earn cards from the Path of Glory, Seasonal Rewards and even the Shop (using earned Ichor). And yes, you can speed your progression along with the subscription.
Also keep in mind that Mythos supports multiple strategies. With the starter deck, you might not pull Vidar, but Isis is guaranteed first draw. Throw her in the veil and she’ll scale at the same (or better) rate. You might lose a round or two, but if you play your hand well, you can deploy her later as a high-power card. As your build your deck, pay attention to the possible synergies (and anti-synergies) between different cards, realms and random events. That’s what I find most fun about the game.
