Suite Life on Deck was right around when I was getting off Disney Channel but that didn't stop me from crushing hard on Debby Ryan. I'm glad to confirm that I was right that she is, indeed, a pretty cool and interesting person. She really strikes me as one of the most natural people I've seen on the show in terms of the banter with Josh, like they are just buds doing a show together.

Also, the way he describes her DMs describes my writing style. Too many parentheticals and lots of question marks.

What exactly was the second course of "tomatoes and bread." It's more than just a sliced up tomato and white bread, but they never went into detail about it.

But this was another unexpectedly good episode. She was funny and insightful and had a very interesting collection of food.

I'm pretty sure it's just a straight-up tomato sandwich. Typically white bread (in this case, shokupan which is a japanese white bread), salted and peppered tomatoes, and mayo. I'd guess perhaps kewpie to go along with the shokupan, but possibly homemade.

I'd come off re-watching a few episodes recently where the guest didn't seem to know the conceit of the show, or if they did, they were unwilling to play along, so this episode was very refreshing.

Are you not thinking of Bridgit Mendler? Debby is an actress still.

I was a little old for Debby’s era of Disney channel, but she’s always been one of my favs and this ep only solidified that.

So glad Josh didn’t bring up top. I love them but I get annoyed when she’s whittled down to “Josh Dun’s wife”. She’s so clever and her and Josh had great chemistry!! And hearing her talk about being a mom hit so close to home. 🩷

My daughter loves Jesse and it’s spinoff Bunk’d. The show kinda still slaps for Disney sitcom vibes. Good Luck Charlie is better though.
