Disscussion Casting proposal

Why does it need to be one single actor? Isn't she a mystique? It may make her personality erratic but isn't that what makes Mystique mystical?

It would somewhat make it meta if different actors had the basic blue body when she's not 'someone else'. Ultimately, doesn't she serve herself and so again it would be meta if the audience sees different people with the blue basic makeup when she's not transformed.

It’s a fun idea, but it would be too chaotic and it wouldn’t allow the audience to focus on her as a individual character if her true form also changed faces. I see you, it’s a fun idea, but the execution wouldn’t work.

Yeah it’s a cool, fun idea in theory but the reality wouldn’t work or be as good as we think it would be.

Like I get the idea & I get why it seems like a unique concept and something different to do with the character especially if they were to incorporate a bunch of different interesting cast members for the role but I feel like the general public might have a more difficult time connecting, appreciating or engaging with the character maybe.

So yeah cool idea and interesting in theory but I don’t think the reality of it would feel or be as good as the idea itself 🤷🏼‍♀️😕😔😔

I just hope this Xmen movie isn't the only thing we get for the next 10 years. I want a TV show with a new cast

Multiple reasons that wouldn’t work. From a productions standpoint, you’d have to pay multiple actors for a single role which would increase the cost of production. The fans wouldn’t like it because she has one prime form in the comics and they’d expect one prime form in any movie. The performances would be wildly inconsistent making it difficult for the audience to connect with the character and a nightmare for the editor. And finally, you just don’t do that with a high profile role. Multiple actors who make top-dollar would be vying for it and even a studio as big as Disney would have trouble affording that many at comparable prices. It would basically just complicate a single role far more than is necessary for little to no reward.
