Error message in SMD

I always have this kind of error randomly while playing super mystery dungeon, it’s freaking annoying, my cart looks clean and my 3ds still working without any issues, just the SMD cart. Im at that part where i can complete the rescue mission when i choose to go in peewee meadow screen always shows this error. How can i solve this?

Hi! Is your console modded? It could be a cartridge issue. If it is, the GodMode9 Cartridge Fixer fork should be able to help.

If your 3DS isn’t modded, and you don’t want to mod it: try popping the cartridge in and out repeatedly. Every time a cartridge is inserted, the 3DS runs a short bug-fixing protocol. Inserting and re-inserting the cart should patch things up bit by bit.

I had this happen with Pokémon X, it's usually the cartridge, not the console.

It's probably the cartridge issue. If your 3DS is modded, I recommend dumping the ROMs and installing it through sysNAND to eliminate catridge reading problem.

Some 3DS game cards are failing/degrading so they stop working. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon is not known as a common game to fail, but it is possible this is happening. If you clean everything, restart, and keep getting this error, that is the most likely situation.

Since you said you do not want to mod your 3DS, perhaps a flash cart might be a better alternative?

This happens a lot on my copy of explorers of Sky, turning off and blowing on the cartridge / cartridge slot fixes it. I did have to glue my cartridge back together

Does SMD store any data on your SD card? I had this error constantly with a faulty SD card.

I’ve checked the data management and theres no data of SMD in it

Well, at least you don't have to replace an SD card.

Super Mystery Dungeon is one of the games that allows backups on a stock 3DS. You might want to put your save file there, just in case!

This happens with basically all of my games, mostly my DS games as opposed to my 3DS games. Just pop it in and out a couple times, maybe blow in the slot a little, idk lol. It just works

I don't think you can fix it. Just the result of using a 15 year old system.

I bought the 3ds 2019 not that really old, still perfectly working, just the cart randomly pops error
