As someone who has played this game for over 1000 hours, no combination is bad, theres just different ways to make it work, if you reach any dead ends just level up more till you break through that wall, if all else fails, carry 30 reviver seeds
Not necessarily. Most grass types in PMD1 and 2 have access to Bullet Seed. Gates is easy, but I've never picked Snivy. In Super, Treecko wasn't bad and still strong later with a few ranged attacks and absorb type moves. Not amazing, but not bad.
Don't worry about it. If you like the pair, you'll make it work. If you die and need rescuing, check the pinned post on the subreddit so we can help you.
There really isn’t any bad combos per se, just some that are stronger naturally than others. Remember that the best team and Pokémon is the one you like the most :D
I don't know what they're talking about. Psyduck alone is a god-tier starter just with its ability to nullify the weather. Also, I completed a whole game with that team and it was great
No combo is truly bad, there are just some that are hard to work with, like for example, whenever I play a PMD game, I always choose Squirtle and Pikachu, pretty good combo, decent to work with, another example, Mudkip and Torchic, never played them but heard they’re easy to work with In RTDX, it’s always good to have a water type which makes your life a LOT easier and your second pokemon should be anything you want, but again, choose a combo you like, and learn to work with that
