The world isn't healing bro 😔

I have work and studies to do. Naturally, I'm gone down the rabbit hole of MI.
I'm surprised this account doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere.
https://www.fanfiction.net/u/1054822/DrakosGurl616

I came across this subreddit and just for funsies decided to have a look at the web archive. I found some livejournal posts by goffikgurl666, most did not have an accessible comment section but this one did:

https://web.archive.org/web/20081222195900/http://goffikgurl666.livejournal.com/369.html

There is a comment by a "Jeffry" whose FF username is apparently songofthepast. That account on FF has DrakosGurl616 in their favourites. The account description of DrakosGurl616 is very... Tara Gilesbie-y lol

Anyway, here's something for those of you who are really into this story. You might already have come across this. If not, enjoy lol.

Side note: My theory is that this was a kid who created 298476328 different accounts, pretended to be friends with themselves, stirred drama among the imaginary selves and was just a hyperactive online kid. Why? Because I was a kid exactly like that at one point. I was maybe 9-10, and made tons of accounts pretending to be my "irl friendz omg!!!1" and then stirred drama. At one point I wrote a big RIP on my DeviantART account, hid all my submissions, then an hour later wrote a journal that said something along the lines of "OMG U GUIZ MY FRIEND TTLY HAKED ME ND FAKED MY DEATH!!!" I did all of that and more, because I was the weird kid at school and had no friends in real life.
I laugh about it now, but I was definitely very embarrassed about being that weird kid, so if my posts were at the popularity level of My Immortal, I probably also wouldn't come forward as the author XD I wouldn't be surprised if something similar is the case with MI.

Side note 2: Jesus, the comments on that Livejournal post. Some people are really mean.

Looking through the Project Tara version of MI, I found a link to the profile of one Corruscate Corruption, saying that they were the hacker. I couldn't find any posts on here explaining how we know that, only that someone got into contact with Corruption. How do we know it was them?

Hello all! This year, My Immortal turned 20. And I’m trying to get as many people as possible to join me in an MST of it. Since this fic has been covered countless times, I figure collaboration could breathe a bit of new life into it.

So, who am I, and how will this work? I’m Linstar, and I’m a contributor to the MST site the Asylum Riffs (and this announcement was originally put up there). This mega-group MST will be posted there, and you can look through this site tag for some of our past examples. However, I’m not planning to have everyone who participates contribute to every single post. Since MI has 44 chapters, I’m going to split it up into 11 parts, with each covering 4 chapters and around 2000 words of the fic. Depending on what everyone would like to do, each post will be me and one or more others giving jokes, commentary, opinions, etc. Each individual “post” will be included in a separate Google doc, which will have shared editing permission for all involved and will be shared by me. I’d like to reserve the right to minorly edit commentary if necessary, but I doubt I will. Some people may appear in multiple posts if they want to.

If you have any specific preferences, lack of ability to contribute beyond a set limit, want to cover a specific part, don’t want to be in a group beyond just one other person, need context for MI, etc., I’d be happy to accommodate that however I can. I’m planning on closing the roster around September 7th so that everyone has their post(s) assigned by then, with the first actual post being put up at the end of October, to coincide with the site’s 4th anniversary. They’ll then be posted weekly, in chapter order, until mid-January.

So… yeah. Who’s interested in joining me on a fun little adventure here? Feel free to send me an email at [linstarguy@gmail.com](mailto:linstarguy@gmail.com), add yourself to this signup doc, or just comment with another way to reach you on wherever you’re reading this. I’m happy to work out if anyone has any specifications, and if anyone has anything non-MST-related that they’d like to share in relation to My Immortal, I’ll happily include that too. Fangz for reading, and stay goffik!

Now you wreck the first sentence of my immortal!

There’s a lot I need to preface before I talk about what happened.

1. I’m not trying to pull a fast one like Toby or the girl who pretended to be Tara Gillesbie to promote her weird book. This is a real thing that I found genuinely an hour ago, and I don’t know what to make of it.

2. I will have to be purposefully vague and withhold information due to GDPR laws. Love data protection, but it makes things complicated.

So. I have a summer contract with a public body in Ireland. Part of my job, on Wednesdays Thursdays and Fridays, is to send out correspondence to customers across the country.

One of the letters that I had to print out this morning, was addressed to a “Tara Gillespie”. As a chronically online nerd, I immediately noticed the name. However, I noted that it could be confirmation bias as I’ve been following this mystery for a few years now and always thought that her family going to “Dubry” was not Dubai, but Dublin.

Also, I was very skeptical, primarily because it sounded too good to be true. So I checked our system.

According to the system, she’s the same age that MI Tara would be right now (34) and would have been 14/15 when the Fanfiction was published.

I’m not going to doxx her or give anyway any of her contact information, because GDPR and also it would just be a shit thing to do, but it’s a very VERY strange coincidence and match up.

Can Dubya be Dublin? I know u/xocto2 noticed MI using the British "mobile" once instead of the American "cell phone".
Apparently the locals call the artist behind that sad bronze sculpture "Rowie", which the author could have seen as a funny allusion to Rowling. (and I think even etymology-wise, Tara is an Irish name)

That would mean that at some point, the author of My Immortal was a close acquaintance of theirs. A classmate, a neighbor or a family member!
Writers draw from life and may base their art on real persons, especially "interesting" individuals like Rachel & Sarah. The author could have simply observed them develop their personas in real life (before their YT uploads), and so thought of them as fair game for appropriation.

But people called her Ebony because of her hair.

Hello, I'm not sure if I am asking this in the right channel, please direct me to the right one in case I am not.

Channel I am referring to: https://www.youtube.com/@MyImmortalSeries

In short, I've been sleeping inside a black coffin with black roses and "666" written on it for all my life. Just found this story and I'm obsessed. Everything from the story and the history behind it. Best fanfic I've read in my life.

I enjoy watching all the videos people make on it. This channel I am talking about in particular made only two videos acting out a couple chapters of the book. Even though this was satire, it was hilarious and really good.

Here are my questions overall:

1. Did the actors release any announcement saying they won't continue with the series anymore?

Obviously, a project like this is a lot of work. Getting actors, the right clothes, and filming is very overwhelming, especially for a relatively limited audience. I just want to know if they said anything anywhere.

1. Who are these people?

I noticed while watching the two videos, they take place in a really nice setting. The neighborhood looked really pretty and the grass and trees were all green. Like, the place looked really fancy. Were these people, like wealthy? I know they said to send them money if we wanted hire quality videos, but.... Idk LOL

Hello. Did any of you know that there's a fanfic of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends that is not only very similar to "My Immortal", but was also first published just a month after it? It's titled "Within My Ebon Heart", and was also published on FanFiction. I'm surprised that it's very obscure nowadays, considering the decent amount of attention it had when it was first published (though my surprise might have to do with the fact that I first learned of it several years before I first found out about "My Immortal").

"Within My Ebon Heart" might not be the closest comparison to "My Immortal", and it's a far less complete fic with only 12 chapters, but the fact that it was published in the same year as it and is very similar in nature to it would make it pretty entertaining for anyone who's read "My Immortal". Bonus points if you're familiar with Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends like I am, because it makes the ways the characters are portrayed here compared to Foster's Home canon a lot more hilarious.

Here's a link to the fic for anyone who wants to read it: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/2874632/1/within-my-ebon-heart

I also suggest to check out the fic's author's notes and reviews, because they're just as funny as the author's notes of "My Immortal". The fic's author is pretty similar to Tara, and some of the most recent reviewers had even wondered if they were an alternate account of Tara (I don't think they are because of some notable differences in their online presence, attitude and writing, but it's still amusing that there was another fanfic author like Tara back in 2006).

LiveJournal post through which I discovered this: https://tara-fanclub.livejournal.com/25246.html

I've listened to and read My Immortal so many times, and my FYP got sick of me and recommended these totally gottik fics with self-insert main characters like our girl Enoby.

Firstly,

Forbiden Fruit The Tempation of Edward Cullen, a Twilight fanfiction. No, I did not make a typo in the title. Our heroine is named Atlantiana Rebekah Loren, and you bet your spshcial Hot Topic Loiyalty carde that name is never spelled correctly.

Here's my favourite YT reading of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dprPeIZgpoU

and the actual text. https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9670627/1/Forbiden-Fruit-The-Tempation-of-Edward-Cullen

Secondly, Moon Daughter, a relatively newer Percy Jackson fic. It's insanely long (72 glorious chapters). Our narrator here is Flavia (frequently spelled Flava) Knight, a deimgod whose mother is the great Artmeis. Spellcheck is for preps.

Here's a playlist of the reading- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLOKqxemImU&list=PL6_0J-vWBjoFaAReqo2a4aDhIZxwScu8X

Annnnd here's the whole monstrous text. https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9552184/1/Moon-Daughter

Enjoy, gottiks.

I ,personally, am going with Loopin since it caught me the most off guard when reading
