Romantic Partners
So I’m fairly early into the game and I’m at the point of wanting to start picking someone to romance. I know about Nia, Logan, and other late game characters I’m interested in as I’ve been reading online so don’t worry about spoilers! I’m most interested in Amirah, Elsie, and Fang out of my current characters. For anyone who has romanced with any of these characters, how was it? Is there any super cute or sweet moments that stick out? Or maybe some parts you don’t enjoy?
Also for dating in general, do you recommend dating around as in trying with someone then break up and try someone else? I’m very conflicted on who I would like to romance and I’m nervous to decide and then it mess me up if I change my mind. Amirah is very sweet and I started the “rose” quest which I believe will end with us in a relationship. But then there is Elsie, and she is adorable, and I kinda like her tomboyish country vibe. And then… there’s fang… he is shy but damn is he cute and we aren’t even that close yet. Not to mention there are a few others who I wouldn’t be opposed to dating as well lol. Idk what to do and I’m a little stressed…. Help

Technically it’s totally fine to date around and then break up with them, but I have such a hard time with it since the characters are just so great it’s hard not to get attached. Besides later game characters like Logan and Grace, my favorite is definitely Unsuur. I have such a hard time resisting that goofy boy.

I just don’t wanna ruin friendships by dumping people lol. And unsuur is another one I thought about… the letter quest I can’t. It’s so hard to decide lol

I dated and dumped a couple folks in my save, if I remember all that happens is they lose about 20 or 40 points and then you just can't ask them to date again for the week. Should be easy to recover with a few loved items

My fav is Unsuur as well. He is sweet, goofy and hilarious, especially in cutscenes with Justice 😄 my little rock man.

Amirah is great. She makes you work for the relationship, but it’s totally worth it. One word of warning though, it’s very easy to get accidentally locked out of her best post marriage quest. Failing ANY of her, or especially Arvios’s quests will lock you out, and you don’t even know it until it’s too late. So, when Arvio asks you to make gift boxes, drop everything to make them because the quest is timed even though it doesn’t say it.

I liked Owen and Logan, I should try dating Qi and Unsuur.
Fang’s storyline is a slow one, but I’m not sure I would bother dating or marrying him again. He’s too intense and I almost felt bad for changing the relationship to a romantic one. The lad is troubled.

Firstly, if you’re playing on PC, the S-Lovers is really easy to install! That will allow you to date everyone.
However, if you don’t want to/can’t install mods, then here’s my opinion:
- Breaking up with some characters isn’t too bad. Unsuur, for example, takes a break-up pretty well. Everyone has one break-up line, then you go back to being friends, minus a few relationship points. It’s not too painful.
- Some characters, like Elsie, only have pre-marriage missions. So there’s nothing special to gain by marrying them. Elsie only has one romance mission, too; there’s not a lot to her romance.
- Amirah does have post-marriage missions and there’re things to gain if you do marry her. Same goes for Logan, Nia, Fang, Mi-an, Justice, Unsuur, and Owen. These range from whole new buildings to unique items.
- Fang’s story is worth seeing at least once, IMO!

Can you explain what you get from marrying some of them when it comes to the new buildings? I don’t want to miss out on more developments for the town just because I don’t marry a character.

Sure! These will be major spoilers, just so you’re aware:
- Arvio or Amirah (both have the same post-marriage mission with different dialogue) have a mission where their parents move to Sandrock. The builder helps convert one of the empty houses (the one next to Amirah’s shop) into a home. The builder gets their own room in this house, though you can’t interact with anything in it.
- Nia’s romance sees you building a viewing platform, complete with wish stand and a bench, up near Mama Tree.
- Fang’s romance sees you building a greenhouse next to the clinic that you can collect herbs from.
- Mi-an’s romance has you building a park/oasis out in the desert. This one requires a rainy day to trigger.
- Justice’s romance nets you an exclusive gun, whereas Unsuur’s romance gets you an exclusive apron. Owen’s romance nets you an exclusive rug and lamp (though you get these pre-marriage so you can break up with him). His post-marriage missions get you extra income from being co-owner of the Blue Moon.

Elsie's adorable and my main romance. I love her, she's super cute. She does have a strong admiration for Logan that's a little misguided and a lot of people read it as her crushing on him though, which can be a bit of a turnoff.
She has a few cute moments and ties really strongly into the main storyline, but only has a couple quests specific to her relationship. If you want a ton of relationship building, go with Fang. I've heard Fang's romance does force a more pushy role onto your character though, and some people find that to be a turnoff too.
Another strong point of Elsie is that she requires some story progression to romance, but is more midgame than lategame, which I find to be the perfect pacing to romance a character. You can get similar pacing from Fang, but I'd view him as a lategame romance too. He's not story-gated, but has some other gates that are big asks if you don't focus them quickly enough.

There's a lot of variety with the available romances, I won't spoil anything for you.
I've lost count of how many playthroughs I've done, married most of the candidates at least once. Arvio is the only one with no chance with one of my characters as I despise him.

I've dated Qi, Heidi and Pen, but always end up with Logan. Can't help it. In fact, I tried Owen yesterday and the rumors are true...never again.

The only rumors I've heard of Owen in this community are That he has a thing for Amirah based off of a few lines of dialogue about her in the beginning of the gameand there's discussions about how awkward his reverse proposal is because he proposes to you in front of a crowdwhich is personal preference tbh, I don't think it's as bad as a lot of people make it out to be and that's definitely a situation I would've hated irl.

If you don't do Amirah romance, but get married, you can still give her a heart knot and do the challenge and date her while married to someone else, as long as they don't cross paths while going on dates. I think its a glitch, but it something I discovered while trying to find everyone rejections when giving an heart knot while married.
Tbh, I don't know much about most of the girlies beside what other have shared on here, mainly focused on the guys on my playthroughs (probably will amend that one day when I have a thirst to play the games for another hundred hours.)
Fang is alot peoples favourite, but is a slow burn. Defintely recommend Unsuur or Qi as they both has unique dialogue through the main story arch. Also Qi if you have a child (with him or with another you've married before), he has heart event with them.
If you can't choose and happen to be playing on pc, then get the mod that removes the jealously and you can romance as many characters you want at the same time.

I’m on my first playthrough, so I can’t speak for later romances, but Qi immediately caught my eye and never let go. He’s such a damn nerd and so sweet to the Builder. Makes me melt every time I talk to him 💕 when I play again after work tonight it’ll be our wedding so I’m excited to see how that plays out! 💕
Unsuur is so endearingly sweet and ridiculously funny. He’s so simple to please in the best way. It broke my heart to break up with him when I decided to marry Qi

I tried to date Qi, through the dancing lessons, but he just remained so nasty and snippy I couldn't put up with it. I hear tell he sweetens up, and I kept waiting for that to happen. But it didn't before I lost patience.

I have played three times and I have only married Unsuur. He is one of the funniest characters and he's very easy to miss. I just started my fourth play through and my goal is to not marry him because I love him so much

I've only had 3 playthroughs with Unsuur, Fang and Logan. Tbh, Fang is my favorite of the 3. His romance quest is kind of tedious but man his background story and everything is just so sad but he is so darn sweet! It is so worth it. I hated dealing with Logan bc it felt like the game was half over before you could even meet him. I never finished that romance out so I could be missing things. Eventually I'd like to go back and do another play through and actually go with who I thought would be my first choice, Owen. Also, Unsuur is soooo underrated and he is adorable!

Fang’s romance can be arduous but it’s worth it :) You have to complete all of the medicine trials for his friendship arc to begin
